One of our favorite THIGH exercises! Single Leg Lifts! This exercise is extremely beneficial because it strengthens your entire leg which supports the knee joint. This position is also rehabilitative and preventative for knee injuries and is great for strengthening your standing medial glute too (which helps with pelvic stability). • • • With a supportive standing leg, press into all four corners of your standing foot and engage your quadriceps. Lift through your pelvic floor and engage the base of your seat to support your pelvis and spine. Lengthen your neck and create space and length from your standing foot through the top of your head. Oh my cardio! In past years of taking punishment on my body through the treadmill, I was turned off by cardio for a while. Ok or at least I thought I was until I realized HOLD UP🛑 Running isn’t the only cardio option. There’s so much more So if you’ve ever felt this way and had to take a break from cardio, I hear ya! Sometimes she is fast and sometimes she is furious, but just like our bodies, she comes in all shapes and forms. The best part? She’ll make your heart stronger, she’ll watch out for your cholesterol, and she’ll even make you happy by releasing endorphins. So keep cardio around. She’s a gem ⚡️SOME ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO CARDIO: Jumping, cycling, walking, hiking, swimming, aerobics, rowing, kickboxing, interval training, and dancing. Flowing quicker through your Pilates and Barre routines will bring your heart rate up (Ah with proper form!😙). Also, have you ever heard of the Pilates jumpboard? Yes, this is a ballet based workout but ballerinas don't waterski, pretzel, and do fetal right? You'll hear some ballet terms, but tuck/pulse will soon be your new go-to vocabulary all class.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 2.
