A simple yet challenging exercise that you can definitely feel good about. Before & After I almost skipped the gym because of the rain. {Nah, kid we’re over using trivial excuses.} Over the weekend I completed a feat most athletes would rather skip. I crossed the finish line & received a medal. But it wasn’t until I arrived to my mothers house when my niece said “Titi, you got a medal and a picture of yourself pointing to my bag” Confused, I looked in the bag & it was a flier of a a very fit woman using biofreeze to ease her aches and pains. I thanked Olivia. It was a huge compliment. She saw me as a for athlete. I was reassured that I am resolving my WHY. While running up the FDR, I had a panic attack. I was overcome with anxiety and couldn’t breathe. My feet hurting I started to think I physically could not finish the Half. I tried resetting my thinking and thought of all the reasons why I run. One is to show my nieces they have no limits to their abilities. If they want to run 13.1 miles they could because their Titi did it & their Titi will be right by their side should they decide to do it. They will learn: the mind makes the body. Some research shows that intermittent fasting works - at least in the short term. ▪️ It’s not easy to skip most of your calories a few days a week and rely mostly on water, coffee, and tea to keep you feeling full so balanced meals eaten in moderation is key! ▪️ You can eat mostly what you want on days you don’t fast but to lose weight and get the nutrients you need, you should stick to healthy foods and limit treats like dessert and processed foods. ▪️ The fast to food ratio can be done in a few ways but the most popular is 16:8 which means that you would fast for 16 hours and be free to eat for 8. This might seem severe but if you set your fasting time during sleep hours, this process becomes very doable. For example, you would fast from 6pm to 10am the following day and are free to eat from 10am to 6pm.
