Home design trends come and go—so we talked to our in-house design experts about what’s in right now and what’s out.
In: Floral wallpaper! Go big and bold with large-scale flowers and dark colors, like in this photo of amyintheusa’s dining room. Wallpaper by elliecashmandesign.
Out: Busy clutter. While maximalism is in, messy and random design is not. You can embrace the maximalism trend while still maintaining a well-designed, meaningful look.
In: Trim accent walls. Add style to a focal wall using trim rather than paint or wallpaper.
Out: Upholstered headboards. Instead of using fabric, try shiplap, open railings, unique metal fixtures or a built-in bookshelf.
In: Plantopia! Create an indoor oasis by growing beautiful herbs, flowers, succulents and more in your home.
Out: Sterile. Minimalism is great, but sterility is not. Style, color and texture gives your home warmth and life.
What do you think of these trends? Do you agree with what’s in and what’s out?
