Jedi Master. John is dressed for the occasion as he prepares for Gemini 3, Jun 1965. The mission was the first 2-person flight by NASA. He & Gus Grissom spent nearly 5 hours in Molly Brown, their spacecraft, as they orbited Earth 3 times. Backup crew was Wally Schirra & Tom Stafford; they went on to fly Gemini 6. The original crew was to be Stafford & Alan Shepard. This was changed due to the first American in space developing an inner ear disorder in 1964. johnyoung gemini3 geminiprogram spacerace astronauts spaceprogram nasa spaceage 1960s spaceflight 1965 spacetraining spaceman historic vintagespace spaceexploration astronaut nasa🚀 spacemission projectgemini spacetravel spacehistory nasasocial

Underwater base Aquarius Reef off the coast of Florida will be hosting NASA and ESA training exercises starting tomorrow as Astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti and astronaut candidate Jessica Watkins descend for a 10 day mission to conduct science and plant new coral. Joining them are two experienced marine science faculty from floridaatlantic and usouthflorida. Cristoforetti is an experienced astronaut who spent 200 days in space, the longest single space flight for a European. Watkins, a graduate of ucla, is a new ASCAN, selected in the newest class in 2017. Good luck to them!

Off to work. Fred Haise, Lunar Module Pilot for Apollo 13, prepares for the mission, 1970. He was to have been the 6th to walk on the moon before an O2 tank explosion crippled the Service Module during flight, hence preventing a moon landing. The miraculous recovery & survival from that harrowing ordeal is beautifully depicted in director Ron Howard’s classic film ‘Apollo 13’. Mr. Haise also went on to fly the early Space Shuttle Approach & Landing Tests in 1977. He retired from NASA 2 years later. Science and Technology Museum * * And the whole day is not enough for it. It reminds me of some theme park. There are different areas dedicated to distinct topics which provide you with the useful information but in funny and interesting way. * * Entrance price is 40 rmb for adults (cheaper for ). Audio guide costs 20 rmb but its quite useless. Working hours 9 - 17.00 and seems that it’s not enough. There are 3 IMAX cinemas for an extra charge. * * There is a restaurant and a simple cafe where you can have a lunch. It is also a good place to buy a really cool gift for your or anyone who loves technologies. * * scienceandtechnology science technology museum robotics robot space rockets girlswithblueeyes shanghaiscienceandtechnologymuseum shanghailife_ china explorepage liveyourlife instagirl behappy photooftheday spacetraining

There’s a lot of talk about manned missions to Mars in a few years, but isn’t it odd that NASA hasn’t completed a manned mission on the moon in over 40 years? The back side of the moon is up for huge debate, and recently China had a mission there, perhaps it was to get helium-3 or maybe to secretly figure out whose ships keeping popping up on telescopes zoomed in on the moon from amateur astronomers. All I’m saying is that although Mars is fascinating (more so it’s history), I feel we should be focusing more on missions that take days to reach, not years. The moon is so close and I guarantee that other space agencies won’t wait for NASA to get back there. If extraterrestrials are out there it doesn’t matter if we go to mars or we go to the moon, we will see their ships once we leave surface quarantine on Earth. People are taking things into their own hands now and soon space will be accessible to everyone through private companies. And even deeper, advanced space technology that has been around since the 40s will be released which will cause a domino reaction that will change our reality forever. It’s only a matter of time and I’m going to be ready.

Talk of a space hotel, or a holiday in space, has long been thrown around, but there's never really been any concrete plans to make it happen. Until now. 😮⁣ The team at Axiom Space are taking reservations for a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will involved 15 weeks of intense space training, culminating in 10 days aboard the International Space Station. 🛰️⁣ Lift off is expected in 2020, and your time in space won't just be spent floating around, you'll also be expected to contribute to a unique mission, which could be anything from exploring fitness in zero gravity or helping out with biological research. 🚀⁣ And all for a cheeky US55 million.
