Being active has been a big part of my life since I was a little girl. Growing up, I had a mom who modeled that behavior daily. She played tennis, took lots of walks, and made it clear to my sister and me that physical activity is important and should be a priority. This is something I have tried really hard to instill for my own . Over the weekend, I had the chance to introduce my boys to a typical barre class at The Dailey Method. Getting to share that experience with them was so special. Afterwards, the first thing Will said was, “Mom—that was hard! I can’t believe you do those classes all the time!” 🤣 Not gonna lie—that felt pretty good to hear. 😉 I work hard and my health is a priority. I’m proud that my see that. I can’t tell you how often I’ve had women say to me, “Yes I wish I could work outI just don’t have the time!” Trust me—not having time—I get it. But I promise that taking time for YOU and your mental and physical health is not something you’ll ever regret and your will learn lifelong lessons from seeing you do that. I’m so proud to be part of TDM where mommas of all shapes, sizes, and walks of life are celebrated. It’s a place where we truly lift one another up (and kiddos are always welcome in the childcare—no excuses there!) It is about aligning yourself in all of your thoughts to create a balance between what you desire and how you conduct your daily life For me, I do this with daily gratitude practice, quiet reflection, meditation, and conversations with trusted people. Do you ever have that moment in class where your legs are shaking, there’s sweat in your eyes, you feel like your abdominals could tear apart, and all you want to do is quit? Or when you really don’t want to go to class, but you push yourself to go anyway and your head just isn’t in it? Well, I’ll let you in on a secretwe ALL have those moments. Whether it be within workouts or just our everyday lives, we tend to believe the self defeating thoughts that our mind feeds us I hope that within your Dailey and life practice, you can find ease within the effort. Your body will always believe what your mind tells it. When you feel yourself wanting to give up, or come out of that exercise, tell yourself that you can do hard things. 3 seconds can turn into 5or 10. Hiiiiiiiiiii! 👋 aamsix taking over our studio IG feed for the weekend A little bit you may or may not know about me 😃 I’m mom to 4 kiddos ranging from age 4-11 (parenting is starting to get very real with the tween FYI 🙃). I’m a former competitive tennis player who was top ranked in the state of FL (soooooooo many moons ago) and also played ITF tournaments while living in Asia 🎾. I’ve lived on 3 continents, 6 different states and in DC (had an Air Force Dad and and Air Force Civilian Mom) 🇺🇸 I worked in psychology research universityofmiami_hurricanes post graduation before I got married Owning tdmloudoun w/ janetpbarre has been one of the most fun, challenging, and rewarding things I have done to date 💚💛🧡 Stepping into a role teaching barre & cycle classes was definitely out of my comfort zone, but it ended up being SO fun 🙌I love to be active and working out is a mood booster I just CANNOT live with our. It feels good to have created a space where people can feel comfortable in their own skin, have fun, and reap the mental & physical benefits that our classes have to offer. The DMV is such a go go go 🚗 area, and our studio affords clients the opportunity to pause, put their phones 📱 down for an hour or <, and focus on THEMSELVES We all need it and it’s something you can find anytime you walk through the studio doors 😊 . One of our clients remarked on her way out of the studio yesterday that “working out has to be fun!” 😁 in reference some giggles she had initiated in her cycle class that morning.
