5 continents. Countless Countries. Nearly all the US states. And still there is no place I’d rather be than next to him. 💕 I got on a plane today to go be with my family as we celebrate the life and legacy of my grandma. I am so immensely grateful that I CAN do this. I love that my work is flexible enough to do so, and I’m so grateful I have a partner who encouraged me to do what felt right even if it meant dropping everything & getting on a plane. This is a blessing beyond words. But I won’t lie, it was kinda hard getting on that planebecause let’s be real I don’t enjoy being away from that handsome face. 😍 I’m constantly amazed by foolishmarch and the many selfless ways he shows love for not only me but also my familyincluding driving me to the airport before the crack of dawn! My grandma was so beautiful, inside & out! 💕 She loved her family fiercely and created an extraordinary legacy. She loved to show me albums and albums of family photos, recounting the details of the memories held within each one. Every time I’d see her she’d say how much she loved me, and she would cry each time our visit would end. As a kid I wasn’t sure what to make of that, but as I got older understoodsometimes our love and gratitude can’t quite find the right words, so they slip down your cheeks in tears of joy. I know when I have grandkids I will 💯 be the same way. 😆 sorrynotsorry She was also a masterful and prolific artist, who painted some of THE most stunning tableaux I have seen. And I like to think some of my creativity came from her. ✨ She will be so deeply missed. 💔 Her passing is yet another reminder to me that time is our MOST precious resource and that people are our most important investment. So go hug your loved ones. Pick up the phone & FaceTime (don’t text). Spend time showing your people that you love them. True life: my LEAST favorite thigh/seat combo position is wide turned out (wide second, goddess, whatever you wanna call it). My hips lack the ability to externally rotate and I feel a tight pull in my groin, and a pinch in my low back 🤨 I simply can’t hold my pelvis neutral in this position, and when I try to stack my spine, my ribs jut out. One thing I do know is, this won’t be forever. As my hips begin to open (someday 🤞🏼) this position won’t feel so torturous. - - I challenge you to look at your practice (or your life) and instead of trying to change your current situation, maybe your asymmetry (thx etreephoto), simply notice it. I’m doing my best to stay present during this journey (yoga, school, life) without freaking the F out because things happen to simply feel “off” or “hard” right now - - Yeah, my psoas on my right side is constantly contracted, giving me grief, and hurting my back yeah, I’m dead tired ALL OF THE TIME from school and graveyard shifts but this is just where I am right now, it’s not forever, and I’m taking the necessary steps to heal and grow. “Well we’re stopped, might as well take a picture.” This is what I thought to myself after falling off my bike (because my cleat wouldn’t release from my pedal 🤷🏻‍♀️😆) I figured I could be annoyed or I could brush myself off, make the most of it, laugh, and snap a picture of the two of us with our helmet heads. 😍 Sure my hands stung from breaking my fall, and I knew I’d be a little sore the next day. But I also knew a little fall didn’t diminish the fun I’d been having or where we were going I think this is a good lesson to take with us into every sphere of life. ✨Falling down doesn’t diminish what has come before it, and it doesn’t have to change or diminish what comes next. ✨With the right mindset, anything can be learned from, used for our betterment, and (dare I say) enjoyed. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t fun falling off my bike literally or figuratively. But I also know it happens sometimes. Who am I?! Actually wearing my workout clothes to the GYM. 😜 I told myself in 2019, I’d work on myself MORE- physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally 🙌🏻 I hadn’t worked out consistently for literally YEARS before this. Crazy right? I began my journey at tdmhighstreet about 2 months ago, give or take- and I haven’t looked back ❤️ I ENJOY working out, and love the person I am when I leave this studio. I feel energized, uplifted, and confident! Not only am I noticing a difference physically, but I also feel it on the inside.
