True life: my LEAST favorite thigh/seat combo position is wide turned out (wide second, goddess, whatever you wanna call it). My hips lack the ability to externally rotate and I feel a tight pull in my groin, and a pinch in my low back 🤨 I simply can’t hold my pelvis neutral in this position, and when I try to stack my spine, my ribs jut out. One thing I do know is, this won’t be forever. As my hips begin to open (someday 🤞🏼) this position won’t feel so torturous.
I challenge you to look at your practice (or your life) and instead of trying to change your current situation, maybe your asymmetry (thx etreephoto), simply notice it. I’m doing my best to stay present during this journey (yoga, school, life) without freaking the F out because things happen to simply feel “off” or “hard” right now
Yeah, my psoas on my right side is constantly contracted, giving me grief, and hurting my back
yeah, I’m dead tired ALL OF THE TIME from school and graveyard shifts
but this is just where I am right now, it’s not forever, and I’m taking the necessary steps to heal and grow.
Bottom line, I’m gonna be okay, and so are you 💜
