straight up, I alllllmost cant believe this came from my kitchen BUT IT DID N IT WAS FREAKIN DELICIOUS I found tuna steaks on sale at kroger awhile ago n just had them in our freezer forever but thawed them last nite on a whim I might try n make them today n it panned out So our tuna steaks were like 170g each n I just seasoned them w teriyaki sauce n reduced sodium soy sauce (like marinade them in that for like 20 mins) then sprinkled w garlic powder then sear 2.5mins on each side in a hot pan n it was ready. Literally took like 6 mins for the meat I read online abt how quick to cook those are so the first thing I did was prep the brussels/preheat oven, n make my salad (fresh manadarin oranges cut up, strawbs, n ff feta w poppyseed dressing), n got the rice ready I use minute rice, it takes like 5 mins in the microwave to make. These salad stand for meals consisting of whole foods, let's dive a little deeper into it👇👇 - If you’re somewhat into health and fitness and taking care of what you’re eating, you’ve probably already heard of the 80/20 rule for your nutrition. - It’s a rule that states: “80% of your food should come from whole foods and 20% should come from foods that you like” - Whole foods being the salad in this graph and the foods you like being the chocolate, cookie, pizza, donut and wine. - Now, I see a lot of people trying to implement this rule in their life but hopelessly screwing up. They think: “I’m using the 80/20 rule so I can eat this right now” and 2 hours later they think exactly the same. - IF you’re going to use the 80/20 rule you need to make sure that you’re actually doing it in that split and not end up doing a 50/50 or 60/40 split. - You see, technically from an energy balance perspective you can do that BUT for overall health and energy levels, that’d be dumb and you’d feel like crap. - We don’t want that. We want you to be energized throughout the day and feel good - SOOOOOOOOOO… If you’re going to implement the 80/20 rule, make sure you’re doing it as it’s supposed to be used and not use it as an excuse to eat even more foods that you like - At the end of the day, whole foods are what you want to be eating most of the time. Thursday I often make very bad food choices because I go straight from working since 8:00 am to school until 10:00 pm. I have to eat on the way there since it’s a Chem Lab and not even water is allowed - Tonight as I was thinking of where to eat I decided to wanted to make a good choice. It's been a while since I've posted on here. I'm still staying at 270. However, my pants, are starting to get baggy. If I have something too heavy in my pocket, they start falling down while I walk. My shirts, I've been noticing I'm in between sizes. 18/20'sare just a hair too small,and the 22/24's are too big. I really just can't express how exciting this all is. I can't remember the last time I wore this small of a clothes. I k ow for most people, this is all still big. But I might already need a size 20 pant, and I am moving into the for the shirts, not to mentuon being able to wear extra larges now too. I'm trying different clothes that I would normally never wear because now, I CAN! It won't be long until I'm in the single didgets for both. So for the last few days, Phase 2 of Freakmode has been kicking my arse but I still carried on through it. I didn't bother doing the usual two classes tonight though. I decided to take the time to put some music on and go for a lengthy walk. Armed with my wireless headphones and my iPod, I must've walked for over two hours. I just wished my strap didn't break on my Fitbit so I could track the steps, even though I could've put the actual clock in my pocket and tracked them that way but I was back from my walk when I had that thought! Still, although I enjoy a tough cardio workout, it was such a nice change of pace to just have a nice, calming walk. Not all exercise is physical- it's mental too. A lot of people talk about how the body has a "set point." A set point is a weight where the body tends to gravitate toward. Who can relate to this?? Genetics is usually where the blame goes first& a lot of people will claim that they just can't change their body because of their genetics. Here is the thing though, YES your genetic make up does have a role in WHERE your weight will be distributed. However, there are two OTHER factors that play an even bigger role than genetics do. 1. Your environment. 2. Your hormones. Think about itlet's say you change your habits, work really hard/eat clean/stay on track for 8 weeks & lose 10 lbs, getting you to your goal weight! (Way to go! That's awesome.) After those 8 weeks you feel pretty happy that you are where you want to be, but your old habits start to creep back in. You slowly put back on those 10 lbs. You let your environment go back to where it was when you started, so YOU are creating your set point from your actions. That isn't genetics. Your weight will come & go from certain spots on your body, & that IS genetics. However, if you change your habits for good, you will change your set point for good. As far as hormones go, that is another post for another day. I've talked a LOT about how understanding this process has helped me to change some things that I couldn't have changed on my own through diet & exercise. I firmly believe that you can change that set point where your body gravitates toward, but you should also realize that sometimes it's a matter of what you are willing to sacrifice in order to change that point. If your last five pounds mean missing out on your favorite pizza night, or not being able to have your very favorite ice cream, or having to dedicate more time to working out, maybe it isn't worth it to you? I want you to be happy both physically & mentally. It isn't always about weight. Where do you feel best? Where do you still enjoy life? Where are you living your best life? Finding THAT set point is the most important thing you can do. 🖤🖤

30 days in and I’m down 15 pounds. It has started with a plant based diet on the recommendation of my doctor. I haven’t done much physical activity other than a righteous game of kickball every Sunday with holycitykickball The next 30 days will be ramping up the workouts at the company gym, getting out in some of this beautiful (unusually chilly) spring weather and walking and riding my new bike. Also trying to turn my mindset of thinking about food as pleasure or a reward and instead thinking about it as fuel. This has never been a part of any diet or weight loss program I’ve done in the past. I’ve always just thought of my diet as restricting myself and it always lead to a point where the levee broke and I just binged again. ✨✨I have eaten out 2x since starting this journey. It’s simple for me, food from a restaurant makes me not feel my optimal best. I have 0 control over what’s in the food and eating dairy free is a nightmare. I mean everything has cheese in it, when it comes from a restaurant. I’m grateful for the restaurants that want to embrace your health journey like freshii , but they are limited 😞. We also didn’t get to be overweight because we know how to not eat to much food and although I hate to talk about calories-restaurant food tends to be higher, much higher in calories then a dish you would make at home and the reality is, we need to be mindful of eating too much, so whether it be calorie counting or intuitive eating-just simply being aware. It’s also ok to eat these foods in moderation, moderation use to be 3-4x a week for me. That’s not moderation 🤣. In 3 months I have eaten 2x and once was here at freshii.I believe my budget and my health thanks me for it✨✨✨

Left was September 2018 I was around 290ish. Right is this morning 3/21/19 at 233.9. Seriously never in my life would I thought I'd be in my bra in a picture but here we are. I use my sleeve as a tool but I also have to make sure I'm am putting the right things into my body. I also go to the gym 3-4 days a week.
