The Thunder go into tonight's game down 3-1 to Portland, with little margin for error if they hope to move on to round two. As great as Russell Westbrook has been statistically these past three seasons, they are in danger of being booted from the playoffs in round one for the third year in a row. This brings to mind the question, could the Thunder look to trade him if they get eliminated by Portland?
There is an argument to be made that Westbrook is a bad fit for OKC, as he has a tendency to play "hero-ball" and heat check himself into oblivion. With the Thunder currently locked in with very little cap room, trading Westbrook to a team in need of a star (with lots of players and cap room) could be best for the team in both the short and long term. If a team like the Lakers were interested, they could potentially offer a package featuring Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, this year's lottery pick, and some future considerations, freeing up some cap room for OKC in the process to add some more competent role players.
