This has to be one of my favorite tricep supersets to do at home. (The triceps is a muscle that has three heads which is located in the back of the arm that extends the elbow.) The first exercise we do is skull crushers which puts the long head of the triceps under a big stretch when the elbows are flexed, creating a lot of tension. Next we do chair dips which puts the triceps in a much more contracted position, because the arms are behind the body, activating the triceps more and working on that all important mind, muscle connection. I strongly recommend that you give this superset a try because it is an absolute beauty and it somehow managed to make my triceps sore just by recording this. One of the main functions of the rotator cuffs is external rotation. Most people get super hyped up to start working out and start their diet but once they start and realize it’s not going to be all sunshine and rainbows, slowly they start to have second thoughts and ask themselves “do I really want to endure through all this pain and restriction every single day?” Then before you know it they miss their first workout or have their first piece of cake which starts a downward spiral. Then to make them selves feel better about making a poor choice they tell themselves reasons why they couldn’t hold up with the diet or their workout plan like “I don’t have time to workout”, “I’m not motivated” or “I’m just lazy” which is a complete load of garbage. If you are not motivated, then motivate yourself. Nobody is just born motivated while others aren’t. The ones that continue to workout motivate themselves to push through the adversity and then, naturally find it easier to become more motivated, not the other way around. Whatever your goal is, I can tell you right now that it is achievable but it sure isn’t going to be easy and if you want to be one of the people that survives “the purge” then you better get ready for war because whether you like it or not it’s going to come for you one way or another; either in the form of regret, unhappiness or low self confidence. It’s you vs yourself and if you don’t push yourself then nobody will for you! I get it everybody wants that big chest, swole biceps, shredded abs and pumped quads because those are the muscles most easily visible in the mirror. However if that is all you are doing without training the back side of your body (rotator cuffs, back, triceps, glutes and hamstrings) over the course of the long run then it eventually leads to muscle imbalances which will effect your aesthetics, strength and performance. Not to mention the longer you continue to feed into the problem by not training the posterior muscles enough you raise your risk of injury which will definitely effect your gains if you are out of the gym, believe me I know.
