⚡️SLOW DOWN ⚡️ The importance of slowness and stillness in yoga This is something that’s been a journey for me and something I am still working on. Having come from a background of fast paced vinyasa and still enjoying this practice, I know it can be easy to loose your centre as your focused on pushing yourself through the intensity of the class I have learnt the crucial importance of slowness or better, a greater presence in each moment Rather than thinking about what’s next or yanking myself into the next posture, with shallow breath, I slow down my breath and therefore my movement must slow, as the point of yoga asana is to create unity between the breath and movement Slower also doesn’t mean easier, it can often be more challenging, holding intensive postures in greater stillness and keeping the breath calm Being present and coming to moments of stillness throughout the dynamism of the practice allows your to drop into a deeper experience of yoga on and off the mat.

Cuando tenia 21 años, fue la primera vez que tomé una clase de Yoga, sin imaginar que se transformaría en mi pasión y salvación. En ese momento no le tomé el peso real, tal vez por la edad o por la circunstancia, este primer acercamiento fue un electivo que “tuve” que tomar en la Universidad. Pasaron varios años en búsqueda de la luz, luego de haber atravesado por la oscuridad, cuando me dí cuenta que “era buena” recodando ásanas y ajustes, me armé de lucas y valor para hacer el primer curso para ser instructora de hathayoga. Han pasado 10 años desde ese curso, junto a otros varios intensivos de vinyasa que me han ayudado a liberar mi cuerpo de límites mentales. El yoga me recuerda día a día lo importante que es respirar, ser conscientes de nuestro cuerpo, cuidar nuestra energía y mantenernos conectados con la fuente. Le pido al universo que siempre me de energías para continuar mi práctica, poder transmitir las enseñanzas de los maestros y agradecer a nuestro cuerpo perfecto, por nuestra práctica perfecta.
