All challenges have ups and downs. Unfortunately, this one was too much for me
It was a difficult run on Sunday morning. There was a headwind to contend with, the relentless uphill stage for the last 2 miles and of course the 4 hours sleep the night before, but who needs excuses for not hitting their goal?!
I don’t want to use any of the above excuses. I was just underprepared. Even if there was no wind or I had more sleep the night before, I maybe would have gone around in 48 minutes but that’s still below target. I’m definitely putting this down to lack of training.
So here’s me saying the words right now, “more training, better training and be prepared!”
Next time it will be different. More research and more tips from the more experienced runners.
