Down 27.7lbs overall from my highest weight I took a break from exercising this past weekend because I've been feeling pretty sick. I still ate pretty decent though. Short Abs Circuit I almost don’t want to share this just because my form needs serious improvement and my abs are so weak 😩😭 But my page is about PROGRESS not perfection! Fitness isnt always a correlation to self hate or self body shaming. This is MY postpartum. I have carried 4 , 2 of whom made it earthside I gained 50-80lbs when I carried Kaiden ; with Mykah I gained 35lbs. It took me 5 years after Kaiden to lose 60 of the 80lbs I gained carrying him **Add in weight gain due to depression after a miscarriage and a subsequent ectopic pregnancy I lost all my baby weight after having Mykah ; then gained 40lbs because I ate everything in sight when in the beginning months of breastfeeding. I have loved my body in each of these phases. I have worked out and applied positive nutrition habits in between each of these phases - and have loved my body. I am losing inches currently , dont know nor do I care how much I weigh - and when i reach my inch loss goal (which isnt alot by the way- i have always been thick and I love that about me) I will love my body just the same- while knowing my health has improved most importantly. Fitness isnt solely because someone disproves of their figure or appearance. Sometimes this is misconstrued in the PP journey. So many beautiful moms beat themselves up about their bodies not realizing they GAVE LIFE and they are beautiful whether they hit the gym or not. If the choice is to workout, it doesnt mean the mama beat herself up because she didnt “snap back.” Every fitness journey or post partum journey isnt due to a goal to lose weight; or to look like what society says post-partum mama “should” look like. Fitness and good nutrition are forms of self care; they are health wellness aspects. Its more than just the body; it has positive effects on your energy, emotions and your mind. Does this mean every mom agrees with this? Or wants to do this? NOPE. Should this trigger moms who dont workout? NOPE. But it DOES mean that you CAN embrace your body- the fat , the flab, the pooch, the mama warrior (i mean) stretch marks - AND make healthy changes to improve the body you already love and embrace for your wellness’ sake. Fitness and nutrition for many is a reflection of loving their health - not hating their bodies. 💜
