Over 30 year ago I remember walking the streets of Little Italy and Brooklyn with my parents when I was a kid and we use to go out to eat and enjoy the beautiful weekend nights and see all the street artists all over the city. It was such fun times and there is nothing like the city on a warm summer night, or even around Christmas when the spirit is high.
One of those nights in Little Italy we ran into a man with a parrot and we got to take a picture with the bird on our shoulders, and this experience in Time Square tonight really made me have a flash back of those nights when I was a . I was so happy that I even chipped in to have two other people take pictures with the bird, one being a girl I didn't even know, and the father thanked me.
I am truly grateful for the life I have lived, and am still living. It has had its ups and downs, but I am still here.
I am grateful today, and this experience in the city tonight has made me Love New York again because it made me realize that the Love never left NY, but that I left NY because I stopped loving. Stay in a positive mindset, have a heart full of gratitude, and a stomach full of Italian NY street food, and your current real life will be just as good as your hood dreams envisioned them to be. - Gennaro Lombardi author of italianlessons101 . writing writer italianfood italian italianmen america american godblessamerica nyc nycfood newyorkcity newyork newjersey guido jerseyshore brooklyn foodporn foodpornography
