In the first of what I hope will be a regular series of posts about some of my favorite Instagramers, I look West to my buddy christopherloa I have always had an attraction to desert landscapes, and the American Southwest, and that’s what originally caught my eye with his feed. I have been to the area, but never to Tucson, AZ, Christopher’s home town. His beautiful pics, containing great kits, sometimes breathtaking views, and often cool old cars, are always especially evocative. About the latter, Chris tells me, “I’ve loved cars since I was little. I remember naming cars out when I saw them when I was a kid in elementary school. And my favorite toys were always Hot Wheels and r/c cars and Lego cars. Tucson has a pretty big car culture, probably due to it still not being very developed and there isn’t a lot of public transportation in a city that is really spread out. Also, the climate is very dry which preserves cars a lot better than the East or West Coast.” About the car you see in the second pic, taken by his girlfriend, mama_lowenskii, it’s Chris’s 1962 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Now that’s old — same year I was born! 😂 Chris has family in the New York area, and we hung out and had an awesome time when he visited last May. He’ll be back later this spring, and we’ll definitely be organizing another hang! See below for his clothing details, and give his feed a follow if you’re not doing so already. Hope to see you in Tucson one day, Chris!
