I was super sick last night / this morning. Not sure if it was from food poisoning or what, but my first meal today wasn’t until 12:30 in the afternoon and it was just toast eggs and bacon. This week I'm using as a recovery week. Today was steady state cardio and hitting every body part with 2 exercises but light weight or body weight and only 10 reps for 2 sets. This was just enough to get the muscles and joints warmed up. Learning to listen to our bodies is one of the hardest things. I'm still learning. I've trained pretty much straight through since I started lifting years ago. Even through injuries (not my smartest move I'll admit) 🙈 Training for me is just as much mental strength as physical. So I never take breaks I push hard consistently. Learning when my body needs me to slow down is actually a huge accomplishment for me. 🙌 We need to give ourselves the OK to recover without guilt. Something I struggle with and may always struggle with. One of the hardest things is to love yourself. We went on an adventure to the Columbus Downtown YMCA, it’s nice working for a YMCA because I have access to all of them for workouts. Definitely a nice gym and a very pretty, old building . It’s been a long time since dakotadrowntown and I have worked out together. Last time we worked out it was a friendly sibling competition to see who could pull more weight. 👊🏼PHYSIQUE👊🏼 The last two weeks of this shred started on Monday with the unthinkable I put my calories UP ⬆️ ‘But calorie deficit????’ Yeah, I know, but hear me out. 😩 According to my Fitbit I’m doing on AVERAGE 22,500 per day. Obviously I’m taking this with a pinch of salt, but with my base metabolic rate, and the fact that I’m doing intense training five times a week and spending most of the day on my feet, it means I’m burning approximately 2800 calories a day. 😩 Not gonna lie, a 1600cal intake with that level of output was ruining me. I was moody and just felt generally rubbish so I’ve swapped it up, increased my calories to what they were before and just making sure protein is nice and high. ⬆️✅ Fitness =/= health if your mood is all off because of your diet.
