A lot can happen in two weeks or so I've been told. Just a few things that have happened while I've been off the 'gram: 🌌 I went to a couple more therapy sessions, but it's too soon to say how things turn out on that front (I'm optimistic tho!). 🌌 The fam celebrated my mum's birthday - a lot of you guys already know that I make a big deal out of this so I probs don't need to explain why on here again and bring the mood down. 🌌 I had my first Bumble date. I give it 2.5 stars. We're not likely to meet up again. 🌌 I tested a couple more 1 rep maxes and got 70kg for front squat and 132.5kg for sumo deadlift! 🌌 I had a whole conversation with a guy called Marco without saying "Polo!" once! Be proud of me, please. Also, tell me something awesome that's happened for you in the last couple of weeks! The first metcon post 2019crossfitopen did not disappoint! Thanks for the “Timebomb” box_programming ⏰💣 In 12:00 50 Wall balls 14 40 lateral Burpees over bar 30 Deadlifts 155 AMRAP Wall balls in remaining time This one was allll about being smart with the pacing of the burpees. More specifically, NOT RUSHING. Go too hard on these, and the workout is over by the time you start heavy deadlifts. This would leave nothing in the tank for the second set of wall balls, which is the portion of the WOD meant to be performed at 100% effort 5 sets of 10 with short rest on the wall balls, a smooth and steady pace through unbroken burpees, and 5 sets of 6 TnG deadlifts left me just under 4 minutes to complete 57 more wall balls at the end. As much as I tried to sprint those, my lungs could not keep up and I took way more rest than I wanted to. But hey, given how sore I still am from 19.5, I feel good about it overall and am excited to get back to training full force 😁🏋🏼‍♀️💪🏼 If you like a bit of an aerobic burn paired with heavy lifting, do this WOD! Definitely will leave you on the floor at the end of executed correctly. But super fun overall.
