Model Shop (Jacques Demy, 1969) •••
This is one of the 10 films recommend by Quentin Tarantino to watch before the release of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
He shared a list of ten pictures that came out between the 50’s and 70’s, but with a focus on the 60’s.
As for this one, Tarantino’s idea is for us to try and get a sense of the L.A of the time, since OUATIH takes place in the same city and is based around the same year. According to him, Demy is able to show the complete and true essence of the city.
My opinion: So far I’ve been able to watch 9 of the 10 movies, and I’m delighted. I can say that this film along with another one (that I’m just fully in love with) have been my favorites, and it’s more because they have stucked with me, and of course! With scenes like this how can you not like them!
P.s. Hello, everyone! This is my first post ever! Hope you liked it🤗. I just wanted to say something first, I started this account out of my love for films and hoping by sharing with you guys, and you sharing with me, I (us) can gain more and more knowledge everyday, so any comment, any opinion, any review, curious facts or tips are very welcomed, just take into account to always be kind.
Thank you for passing by🥰
