When was the last time you cleaned your workout equipment? No wiping the sweat 💦 off your step and mat during a workout doesn’t count!
Although cleaning your equipment after every use is best practice, it is safe to do it once a week Everything from your dumbbells, ankle weights, step, yoga mats, flooring, resistance bands, push up stands, etc should all be disinfected weekly!
Here are some tips and tricks 👇🏼 1. Dumbbells - use water and white vinegar solution to clean and prevent them from corrosion.
2. Ankles weights (anything with crevices) - ensure you are getting in those books and crannies. This is going to be where germs hide!
3. Yoga Mats - can soak in your washer and air dried before spin cycle begins. If not, just bring into your post workout shower with you, multitasking! Air dry it once your done!
3. Step or Flooring - use a disinfectant cleaning solution or vinegar & water. if you are working out on carpet, use the disinfectant you can sprinkle and vacuum up weekly followed by cleaning your carpet every month or two to remove germs.
4. Resistance Bands - soak in the sink and air dry completely before your next use.
These are just a few way to keep your equipment clean and your body healthy !
