Find me – grey GT! This is the cover artwork from last year’s 10th Birthday College Yearbook. Over 2500 staff and students were in attendance. The concept is based on the dot symbols used to represent people on the College’s Office 365/Outlook app. Given that the existing College logo also featured dots as heads, and that confetti looks like dots and is associated with celebrations (i.e. birthdays), the design came together like so – each dot representing the initials and class colour scheme of every person at the college (see slide 2). The randomness of the design, as it turned out, was not so easy. Perhaps more time (which is not in abundance for teachers) was needed to trial different arrangements. Each of these initialled dots were also applied to each staff/student photo inside the publication. And, because the scaling of the heads was not consistent, each portrait was individually tweaked so that collectively the group looked more uniform. The same approach will be used this year – not on the cover, but for the staff/student photos, and, guess what… First inspection of the small cross-section I’ve seen thus far shows that tweaking will again be required. Behind the scenes photo of the first two prototypes of the Embrace High Wingback Privacy Chair. The model in the background of the image (on the left side) is the first mockup we made using strips of wood, MDF and Thermawrap insulation wrap (they’re the only things we had to hand that were large enough and pliable enough to form the shape). The structure in the foreground is the first wood frame we made to test the shape, size, ergonomics and durability of the design. There were still several rounds of development and fine-tuning before we settled on the final design. studiohpatel studiohemalpatel headsprungltd embraceprivacychair highwingback wingbackchair privacychair embracechair embracewingbackchair design furnituredesign productdesign randd productdevelopmentprototype woodframe seatchair armchairmdf testing redesign finetuning ergonomics npd newproductdevelopment behindthescenes conceptdevelopment sneakpeak upholsteredchair

A glimpse behind the scenes: Here we are on a train to train and support the crew. For the main training we meet all together at one place, but after that we train more or less every train crew separately on the job. Space is very limited and every journey a small adventure. You get to know each other very fast, very well. We get immediately important feedback from them on our conceptual work and have great fun with them!🚞😁 gastronomics_ch trainingdays onthetrain conceptdevelopment implementation workingtogether traincrew gastronomy process

Custom Cabinetry Eden Park Reno The quickest and easiest way for me to visualise my ideas is to draw them out. This allows me to 1. flesh out any potential problems 2. Ensure the design is aesethically in line with the overall concept 3. Give trades and other people involved a sound understanding of direction A few minutes now can save A LOT of headaches down the track - Planning is crucial to the success of any good design swoopinteriordesign grandviewdevelopments

Designing a home that looks, feels and functions like a retreat has been very exciting. This current project that I’ve been working on entitles an elegant, colorful, european flair character. The Genie. I designed this one for the same project as the hobo, Mr. Pecman. In short, the hobo finds a lamp to ask for anything he wants but it turns out this genie is a bit deaf 🤦‍♂️

I had a lot of fun with this design. Not just because I like Asian stuff, but because I think I'm finally starting to make a breakthrough in my art. Little by little I'm starting to be able to reach those ideas that seemed impossible in my head because I can wrap my head around 3D space more. Looking forward to more progress! :D environment conceptart conceptdesigner conceptdevelopment conceptdesign architecture environmentsketchingforproduction environmentsketch fantasy fantasyart asian asianculture sketching digitalart artistsoninstagram artist artistsofinstagram

Developing a project on the tracks, the subject of processes and logistics is extremely important. Employees are always on the move and communication with them is a great challenge. Everything has to be planned, coordinated and organized in detail and the employees have to be good at improvising, because once you are on the tracks, there's no going back. gastronomics_ch conceptdevelopment trainingdays onthetrain ontracks teaching gastronomy process logistic organizing oneweekonetopic

A quick render of the indoor fruit and vegetable garden. The purple colour is due to artificial UV lights. The idea was to leave the ground unpaved : just soil and hard sand where people can walk barefoot and experience the scale of the space. There are also ceiling-integrated sprinkler systems that feed the plants. Training sessions can also look like this!🚞 Here we train the crew on a train. The special conditions on board do not always make work easy. Logistic is a great challenge, space conditions are very limited, it is and bumpy and it can happen that the train has to brake unexpectedly. If not everything is well stored away and fixedoops!😯 gastronomics_ch trainingdays stafftraining onthetrain trainkitchen logistic onthetracks conceptdevelopment realization gastronomy oneweekonetopic
