Not all of us can literally take up arms to support nature conservation. But you could start doing work for noble causes rather than spend another hour on netflix. We have limited time on this earth Perhaps instead of "being about that grind" we should pivot into being about spending our time better There are countless organizations out there focused on making this world better who could all use a little more help. Likes dont help, but helping to write a blog post, editing a video, writing the code for a website They do. Stop talking about it and do it, today, and just dont stop 📷 elisehassey

When, somewhere in a remote valley in the Vayots Dzor region, you stumble upon a group of impressive male Bezoar goats. Bezoar goats are the ancestors of domestic goats and seeing them in the wild, to me, is one of the most humbling experiences. Populations in the Caucasus, Turkey and Persia have been under tremendous pressure due to hunting and overgrazing by domestic cattle. However, lately, in certain areas such as Vayots Dzor in Armenia, populations are on the rise again due to better protection. Witnessing a group of nearly 30 males just resting and feeding was therefore a great privilege! nature conservation bezoar wildlife caucasus mountains biodiveristy

Only after the last tree has been cut down. Only after the last river has been poisoned. Only after the last fish has been caught, only then will you find that money cannot be eaten. – Cree Indian Prophecy Some say the planet is sick and humans are the virus, it is undeniably we as a species have destroyed this beautiful planet at an alarming rate. Putting aside global warming and climate change, no species is as greedy as the human race, we take more than we need and leaves a trail of destruction. There is a saying, everybody wants to change the world but nobody is ready to change themselves for the world. Perhaps it is time for us to reflect on ourselves and ask, what have I done for mother nature? Do you really need to use that much plastic bag? Will you walk to the nearby shop instead of driving? It is all the little things that matters, and if everyone contributed indirectly, the planet will be a beautiful place to live it – less resources needs, less destruction and better environment. WYWS2019 Speakers 🗣👏 ivan.carter has a passion for working with the youth and seeing the world through the eyes of his own , is inspired to do his best to preserve it. 🌿 Growing up in Zimbabwe, and after 30 years of guiding safaris all over Africa as well as hosting the TV show, Carter’s W.A.R, Ivan has seen first-hand the complex layers of Africa’s human-wildlife conflict, including rampant poaching of elephants and rhinos. Not only has he witnessed the serious decline in animal numbers and fast diminishing habitat, but has come to understand the complex political, cultural and human development issues that go with it. 🐾 Despite this, Ivan has also come to know many conservation heroes who inspire him in his work giving people the tools, financial support and the training that they need to truly thrive in their conservation missions. 🙌 LetOurVoicesBeHeard projectrhinokzn holgatefoundation wildlifecollege africanconservationtrust zambezedeltaconservation lwiro_primates giraffe_conservation francoismoz

Today, hundreds of kia‘i take to the streets to stand in solidarity with Mauna Kea ✊ I believe we have an ethical duty to put human rights over science.🌍 In the words of Jamaica Osorio, Kanaka Maoli poet and Assistant Professor of Political Science at UH Mānoa: "What makes something sacred? • Is Mauna Kea sacred because she is the highest point in nā kai ‘ewalu and the broader pacific? • ‘Ae. • Is Mauna Kea sacred because of its connection to the genealogy of our people and our Akua Wākea? • ‘Ae. • Is Mauna Kea sacred because of our pilina to her. Because of the unmeasurable ways she has protected us, fed us, loved us? • ‘Ae. • Is Mauna Kea sacred because she represents our ea, our sovereignty, our right and ability to advocate for ourselves and our ‘āina? • ‘Ae. ‘Ae. ‘Ae. ‘Ae. • Mauna Kea is sacred for all of these reasons and more. But today, this week, this month, this year Mauna Kea is sacred because we gather to protect her. Because we consecrate her in our resistance to American force, occupation and colonialism. Mauna Kea is sacred because we show up. She is sacred because we band together as our kūpuna always have. Mauna Kea is sacred because my kūpuna stood with yours and today I stand with you. And because of the many ways we continue to stand, continue to Kupa’a I ke aloha ‘Āina we make Mauna Kea sacred again and she us. • I am proud to stand against the thirty meter telescope because Manono stood against the fall of the ‘Aikapu, because Pi’ilani stood against the provisional government, because Daisy Keali’iai’awa’awa stood against the annexation, because aunty Loretta Ritte stood against the bombing of Kaho’olawe, because Haunani-Kay Trask stood and said, “we are not American”. • I stand because our will live in this ‘āina, will be fed by this ‘āina, will aloha this ‘āina and will stand, like we did. I stand because I am privileged enough to know that standing is what Hawaiians do. Standing is what Hawaiians do. Standing is what Hawaiians do. Until the very last aloha ‘āina. •"

Reposted from chrispalmer779 ( get_regrann) - thegreatvetpawscam Reposted from paul_likes_458_alott ( get_regrann) - In recent times, the poaching of rhino has gone beyond critical mass, any help from whatever quarter is hugely appreciated and valuable. In a recent turn of events the so called “African Conservationists” vetpaw, proved that conservation is not really what it is about but being whores to their donors! A property that had contributed hugely to the habitat and wildlife, all through hunting, decided to mange its elephant population. This decision was made purely out of concern for the habitat that was being damaged and that this damage would have a knock on effect for other species. The hunting of elephant purely for management purposes led to vetpaw ditching the protection of both black and white rhino. As with so many NGOs and organizations that purport to be the saviors of African wildlife, it is not so! They prostitute themselves to the bidder that will pay them the highest and then they do their bidding! vetpaw saw the good of hunting for a full 36 months, yet one threat of finances being pulled and they showed their true colors. Repost from ifawuk:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At just three months old, Nania, wandered alone in to a small village in Burkina Faso. She had been separated from her herd for some time and was malnourished.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The local community came together to raise enough money to provide her with life-saving formula. They called upon IFAW's elephant experts to create a specialised rehabilitation programme for her.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now, just a few months later, we've been able to move Nania to a new enclosure where her long-term rehabilitation will take place.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She's developed a strong bond with Whisty the sheep, who made the journey alongside her.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Nania is lucky to be looked after by four incredible caretakers who provide her with the round-the-clock specialist attention that she needs to prepare her for returning to the wild.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ olsenanimaltrust are incredibly proud to support this little ones journey back to the wild! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Photos: melaniemahoney_ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ elephant conservation wildlife⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ olsenanimaltrust elephantlove animalwelfare

Great to be back in the Zambezi Delta of Mozambique! Roughly a year ago, 24lions were reintroduced to this ecosystem after 40 years of their absence. Today, there are 16 cubs - ensuring their prosperity into the next generation. (¬ω¬;A)_ECO-WARRIOR_(¬ω¬;A) • I remember being on a geography trip one time that ended up being quite entertaining. It was a pretty chill day. Go do some tests, learn about the environment, collect litter and draw a couple of maps. Nothing out of the ordinary. That was until packed lunch was passed around. See, we had this teacher whose temper was insane. I'm talking death to all eardrums. Now on this particular day he was irritable, we were tired and just wanted to get back to school. So some kid finished having their packed lunch and threw the bag outside the window. The bus screeched to a halt, the kid was kicked out almost forcefully to go and find the litter and when he returned, got such an insane lecture that we all felt sorry for the guy. He walked down the isle, head hanging low as we all whispered damn dude. I learned that day that littering definitely isn't a good idea. Especially with a rage fuelled geography teacher watching over you. • (TALKING TRASH Day 5: lesson learned.)

Tú por ejemplo, ¿le darías plásticos a tu mascota? No, ¿verdad?
