Probably one of my favourite movies from TIFF 2018, Giant Little Ones tells a story of teenage friendship and sexuality after complications that arise post teenage house party (those crazy !).
The storyline, acting and flow of the movie is natural and evokes a relatability that is a rare find.
Keith Behrman writes these characters with the perfect awkward teenage relatability, all while taking on the difficult theme of sexuality and the fluidity that comes with it. What I admired most about this movie is the coming of age story does not hit you with hard, concrete endings, but rather opens the discussion of what sexuality is
Fun fact: Gotta love me some Canadian content! Giant Little Ones is filmed in Sault Ste. Marie, and although it does not explicitly mention things like city throughout the movie, I’d like to think this is a great representation of the average Canadian small town and the new generation of Canadian . 🇨🇦
