While doing squats today I didn't realize until I watched the video of my top set that the chains weren't long enough to really do the action that they're supposed to do. In the bottom, the chains should mostly rest on the floor which decreases the load while in the hole. I fixed the chains for the back off set so I filmed that one to show how it's supposed to be. As I have and do preach to all my clients is PATIENCE There has been no time in my life like now to practice what I tell them I had a great bodybuilding season with a great start to my lean bulk when this happened. Since then so many thoughts have run through my head. Like: "My bodybuilding days are over" "Can I come back from this?" "I will come back from this" "How long will it take?" What brings you to your mat? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I’m not teaching yoga, I work at a bar- Very dissimilar gigs- and last night was a particularly late one of which I felt it on all levels this morning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I’m fatigued my mind goes. It takes over with it’s pestering anxiety and spiralling thoughts. Things get cloudy and way too hard. That was this morning. When I managed to crawl out of bed, MUCH later than I usually do, the last thing I felt like doing was coming to my mat. I sort of thought there was no point because I couldn’t do 100% today. Knowing that I ALWAYS feel better after practice, I rolled out Old Blue and just started with just a warm up. Took the time to feel out and move my body- to see what it wanted and then the practice came. Natural and what I needed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Often we put too much pressure on the physical practice. It’s not about how good it looks or how showy the poses are. That pressure we put on the practice, on OURSELVES, can be deterring, so much so that we don’t practice at all. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I implore you to go deeper. What do you achieve from your practice? Why do you feel so good after it?
