Did you ever have a skateboard as a kid?
Mine was bright pink and black, I had rainbow coloured knee and elbow pads and a bright yellow stack helmet. I felt like I was the coolest and most confident 6 yr old in the street! Waaay better than da boyz! :-) (that's what Dad told me anyway :-) )
And right now, with this gorgeous Friday afternoon sunshine, my brilliant client Karen who values fun, individuality and being a true original, is a reminder to go pull out a skateboard, steamroll over the status quo and leave impostor syndrome in the dust (even though I'll probably end up on my ass - definitely my ass. But that's what happens when I skateboard with a glass of sav blanc in my hand. skatetricks sunshinewine). Karen is funky, fresh, original and smart AF. She owns her space, her presence and she owns herself. Karen is a woman who can remind us all that you do not have to conform to the ideals of your industry to be seen as an authority, so burnyourpantsuit - be the exception, not the rule and wear fluro nailpolish. And believe in yourself, your worth and your knowledge, because sista - YOU BELONG IN THAT SPACE BEING 100% YOU.
So go grab a skateboard - steal it from the kid next door if you need too! Go rolling into the weekend with confidence and defiance. And the freedom to make your mark on the world being exactly who you want to be.
P.S. don't forget the wine - or even - juggling apples (I’m working on it!)
