We have nightstands! I'm slowly chipping away at making our apartment look more like a home than a redneck yacht club. I saw some nightstands that I loved from Urban that were $180 a piece and decided I could make something similar for a lot less! I'm lucky to have some amazing free barnwood at my fingertips, which I used for the geometric top and drawer front. The rest of the wood I found on the cull cart at Home Depot and the knobs were purchased for 50% off at Hobby Lobby. After you factor in paint, screws, and glue, I figure I spent about $18 total. Not too shabby (chic).
