When I was younger and beginning to get into my years, I remember wondering when I’d start to get some curves.
When I finally did get curves, I wondered what I could do to make them go away.
Now that I’m older and understand that this body is mine and the only body I’ll ever have, I love having curves and being curvy!
It’s because I recognize how many amazing things my body does on a regular basis. I don’t mean exercises and the way it looks. I mean the things we can’t see or don’t often take the time to appreciate about our bodies. Our bodies are miracle-makers with the ability to hurt and heal and move forward. To operate without consciousness. They’re stronger and smarter than we give them credit for.
When was the last time you gave your body credit? When was the last time you thought about all of the amazing things your body does every day, minute, second?
Now, when was the last time you criticized your body?
Take some time today to appreciate your body for the things it does, and lay off criticizing it for the few things it doesn’t do. And then make a list. Make a list of all of the cool things your body does for you, and then make a list of the things it doesn’t. For most, the list of things it does do is far longer than the list of things it doesn’t. Bask in that. 🙏🤘
