AND I AM SO EXCITED! I have been with the same company for over 9 years in the SAME department! I love my department & my two bosses are amazing (one is my best friend so I got lucky) however after all this time I can finally say my career is FINALLY starting! I am transferring from my current department into a different one, one that will open many doors into my end goal, being a lawyer! Although money is not everything, I got a $4,000 pay rise and also have the opportunity to earn uncapped bonuses (the current people in this role earn between 10-20k extra a year 👀)! I am celebrating this weekend & cannot wait! This year has been ALOT of change & I am definitely embracing it 🙌🏼 debt debtfreecommunity debtfree debtfreejourney debtsnowball budget budgeting finance money frugal frugalliving cash savings debtfreeliving goals moneygoals saving savingmoney budgetstyle goaldigger daveramsey financialfreedom financiallyfree frugaltips moneymoves ozdebtfreecommunity buildingwealth savingsgoals daveramseybudget financialpeace

Here are my top tips for paying off your student loans early:⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣ First, find out how many loans are included in what you owe, the exact amounts and the interest rates on each. ⠀ ⠀ Even if you only have one lender, for example, Sallie Mae, there may be multiple loans within that and they could all have different interest rates. ⠀ ⠀ You can probably find this online but sometimes it is easier just to call and ask. ⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣ Pay the minimum amount on each loan but on whichever one has the highest interest rate pay whatever you can afford above the minimum each month. ⠀ ⠀ It is best to call your lender to figure out how to do this. You may have to make the minimum payment as one payment and then make a second payment where you specifically designate which loan it goes to. ⠀ ⠀ 3️⃣ For the extra payment, make sure it goes to the principal of the loan rather than towards future payments. The principal is the total amount of the loan you owe. If the payment goes towards future payments it will go partially towards the loan and partially towards future interest which these sleazy companies want.⠀ ⠀ Again, you may need to call the loan company to find out how to make sure your payment is going towards the principal of the loan. ⠀ ⠀ 4️⃣ If you have multiple loans with the same interest rate, then pay the one that is the smallest amount owed first.⠀ ⠀ For example, through Sallie Mae you may have three loans. one for $10,000 that is 7% interest, one for $2,000 for 7% interest and one for $8,000 that is 5% interest. Pay the minimum payment and then if you can afford $100 extra a month pay that extra money towards the loan for $2,000 with 7% interest until that one is paid off. ⠀ ⠀ Paying off the $2,000 and seeing three loans go down to 2 loans will feel rewarding and motivating and help sustain you through the long process. ⠀ ⠀ Then pay the $10,000 loan and finally the $8,000 loan.⠀ ⠀ I hope this is helpful. I've never tried to put this information down on paper so this may seem a little bit rambly. Sorry 😰. Let me know if ya'll have any questions 👇🏾

I had to stop and shake myself today. I’ve made it a habit to review my budget/finances every week. However, lately I’ve been slacking and I’ve been mindlessly spending. Too often I tell myself that I deserve to treat myself but honestly what I deserve is to live in financial peace. I have plenty, too much to be honest. So tonight I’m resetting my mindset on my finances and buckling down on my expenses. financialpeace moneymatters debtfreejourney nomindlessspending rjcazares

So last week I made the spur of the moment decision to sign up for Lexington Law to see what they would be able to do to help with my credit score. At the time I justified spending 130 dollars a month to possibly see results (dumb right? 🙄) then! I started to think about it and realized I only have around 5200 dollars in collections, 4000 in revolving credit card debt and 30k in student loans. I could literally just take the money I was going to throw away with them and just tackle the collections accounts myself. 💪🏼 I spent an hour on the phone to fix a decision I made in ten minutes to blow money bad move Kelli but hey! At least now I have a plan to reduce my debt even more. Before this debtfreejourney I would have shrugged it off and continued paying for it. I love that I’m not that stupid anymore lol

I recently had a family member who needed to get to hospital ASAP. Fortunately she has a “Gold” card due to her husband serving our country 🇦🇺. This entitled her to free ambulance 🚑 but in the case we had to pay, it would have cost $500. Having an Emergency 🏥 Fund puts your mind at ease that in these instances you don’t have to worry about wether you can afford it or not.

We have been really struggling with what to do with our really bad lease deal. We leased a car back in 2017 when I was a SAHM. Shortly after we got the car, the business director at my old job called and asked if I would consider coming back to work there. After a brief negotiation we decided that it was too good to turn down and I accepted the job. Soon after I realized the 80 miles I was traveling each day was quickly adding big bucks to what I was going to owe when it was time to trade in my car. 🤦🏻‍♀️ everyday that I keep this car I’m digging deeper in the hole and because I have been using every extra dollar to pay off these debts I couldn’t buy myself out of it. We made the really tough decision to trade in the car 9 months early and buy a new car. YepI know it’s against the Ramsey way but we did it in the least offensive way possible. Took advantage of 0% financing and purchased the car on the lot with the most dealer incentives. Although I’m sure we will get allot of push back on this sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. On Tuesday’s we spend $0! This is a great philosophy, I’m at work all day and unfortunately I work at a shopping centre. Sometimes it’s really hard to not spend any money whilst at work, as I usually get up and go for a walk at lunch. On top of this I would usually spend money on a daily coffee frappe and maybe lunch if I didn’t pack it, but from now on that stops! Tight a Tuesday is here to stay. I’ve packed yoghurt and oats for breakfast, vita wheats with vegemite and cheese for lunch and dinner will be at home as per the meal planner I posted yesterday! tightasstuesday tightass budget moneysaving debtfreecommunity debtfree ozdebtfreecommunity debt debtfreecommunityaustralia goodbyedebt debtfreeaustralians debtfreeaussie financialfreedom savingmoney deletingdebt ozsavingcommunity goals financialpeace budget budgetingtips sidehustle loans homeloan mortgage australia

Let's talk about debt. We were drowning in debt, I mean DROWNING. We worked our butts off and have gotten rid of over 60K in debt (still have a little left!) At first, we were doing it so we could breathe financially but the closer we get to the end of our debt journey and the more our income increases, the more I realize we are being blessed so we can bless others. Imagine an income that doesn't have to go to payments of any sorts No car payment, no student loans, no credit card bills, no mortgage. Imagine all the GOOD that can be done in this world with that kind of money. Debt is not the only option and we are living proof that when you honor God with your money, that he entrusts you with more than you could need. You might be wondering why I chose a picture of us vacationing for this caption it's because we decided NOT to take a family vacation this year to reach our financial goals and I earned one through work way more extravagant than we would have EVER booked for ourselves😘 ******And since I'm affiliated with Beachbody and I'm talking money I KNOW I'll get an email next week from legal if this isn't attached*love you guys😘😘 Team Beachbody® does not guarantee any level of success or income from the Team Beachbody Coach Opportunity. For all those seeking FIRE (Financial Independence Retire Early), I would like to advise you to take in consideration your savings rate post FIRE. After 3 years of living this life, I would have gone back to work if my post fire savings rate was anywhere near 1%. My post FIRE rate feels a little low personally and have this growing interest to grow it over time. I like watching numbers grow…🤓 . Financial freedom on the borderline savings rate is not real freedom in my opinion. Freedom comes from options and without savings your options may be capped. That’s not freedom So, what is a decent or ideal post FIRE savings rate? The answers will differ depending on ones expectations from life. There is no right answer to this question, but it is something you should think about before quitting your job and going FIRE. You didn’t get into all of that debt in one day, therefore you won’t get out of it in one day either. Dodging the process only causes frustration. Allow yourself to GROW through it and gain patience, wisdom, self-control, gratitude and peace along the way. These are things that no amount of money can buy. 💫✨

This is the truth It’s always fun buying in the moment with money you don’t have. Sometimes it can be so stressful you want to pull your hair out when you have to pay it back. For a while now, I’ve been working on getting out of debt and wanted to share three tips how you can work on this too. 1️⃣ CONFRONT IT. If you don’t know what you’re dealing with then you’ll never know how far you’ve progressed or what actions you truly need to take to reach your goal. There are a ton of plans of attack you can have. You can do the snowball effect. You can start with your lowest balance (quickest win) or with your highest interest rate. Either way you have to know what you’re dealing with first. Lay it all out so you know what you owe. 2️⃣ CHANGE YOUR BEHAVIOR If you don’t change the behaviors that got you into debt in the first place, either you’ll never get out or you’ll fall right back in. For me, I hated looking at my checking balance because I didn’t track my spending and didn’t want to know if I overdrew (not how much money was in my account). How messed up is that mindset. I changed my behavior by paying my bills and soon as I get paid, and then allowing myself a daily balance based off of what is left. Any extra money at the end of the week goes toward debt. Doing it this way makes it a game for me so I can beat myself at spending less and less money to put toward getting out of debt. 3️⃣ EARN MORE You have to earn more than you spend to get out of debt. Plain and simple. You could get another job. You could also invest into yourself (and family if you support one) by starting a side hustle. Top financial leaders encourage side hustles in this day and age because it’s a no brainer way to help you toward either making it to your next pay check or setting yourself up for financial health and success when you retire. In between that is getting out of debt. So yeah, I am dropping an invite for you to join me on my team. Simply put. Shampoo is the vehicle. What you get out of this will be much more than amazing hair. 🥰 Positive community that wants to see your success, pushes you to growth and is literally there (cont. in comments)

What goals are you working toward today?! Let’s talk about 💵 for a second. I’ve always been a spender. I LOVE spending money. Like, it can be a problem. It comes easily to me 😬 The way I’ve always felt about money is: easy in, easy out. I can make it easily and I can spend it easily. Many a time in the past when making a decision of what to do with our money, my husband has made a comment aligning with wisdom, slowing spending or the like and my response usually is, “ehh, we can always make more.” LOL I realize I have maybe even had too LOW a view of the resources God blesses me with. Like, I don’t idolize it, it’s just a thing I use. But the opposite end is that you don’t treat it with as much care as you should. Like, yes I know how to go make more if I need it, but perhaps I need to become a better steward of that which He’s already given 🤔 My husband and I have been on a debt payoff journey for 7 years. It began 1 year after we got married and we got really side tracked when came into the picture 3.5 years later. But we’ve recommitted and just this month I’ve knocked $4k off the total balance and now we’re under $10k. It’s just his student loans and my business CC (from my bridal accessories biz days.) I’m so pumped to be so close and I think we should have the rest paid off by Christmas if we keep our heads down! What goals are you working toward today?!

Multi-level marketing companies, AKA Pyramid schemes, are not all bad. They’re not all good either.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here’s the truth – I’ve been a part of two of them, and I learned a lot. But you have to do your research before joining one.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you been a part of a good OR bad multi-level marketing company? 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

Repost daveramsey with get_repost ・・・ If you want to win with money, you can't do what you've always done. You need a plan that works. The 7 Baby Steps are a clear path to show you exactly how to make progress and reach your money goals. Over the next several days, we're diving in to each Baby Step. If you focus and do these in order, they WILL change your life. 💪 BEFORE you start paying off any debt, it's important to save a starter emergency fund of $1,000. This is known as Baby Step 1. 💵 Doing this as quickly as you can will help to protect your progress while paying off debt in Baby Step 2. If something small, but unexpected happens, you won't have to choose between fixing a flat tire on your car or making progress with your money. If an actual emergency comes up, use some of your $1,000 to take care of it. Then, save that fund back up to $1,000 and continue on your journey to financial peace! Remember, a shopping spree is NOT an emergency. Baby Step 1 is the easiest, but in some ways it's also the hardest step. You've got to decide you're ready to take this journey. You may need to sell something, take on extra time at work, and do what it takes to get $1,000 FAST. This will give you a quick win and the confidence to push forward to the other Baby Steps. 🛑 If you're behind on any bills, make sure to get current on those before beginning the 7 Baby Steps, even saving this beginner emergency fund. Let's do this! DebtFreeCommunity 7BabySteps BabySteps FinancialPeace
