For the last week I have spent every spare moment - mornings before work and late nights after work doing the finish carpentry in my home. I did this professionally along with building homes many moons ago (over 15 years ago now) I first started learning this craft just after high school and immediately fell in love with doing the more difficult types of carpentry, where precision and great attention to detail were always critical I was taught by this amazing man in the top left picture - Stan Goodrich, who also happens to be my Father-in-Law. He is a master craftsman (who is graciously helping me here tonight! 🙏🏼) and has spent most of his life and nearly 50 years building homes and buildings and creating beautiful things with wood. I am thankful for this skill he introduced me to and has since helped me develop further Although I am fairly excited to have this phase of the home behind me soon I have thoroughly enjoyed getting my hands dirty with fresh saw dust again while creating something new and special for my family to enjoy for years to come construction craftsman carpentry finishwork salemutah howiconquer keephammering 🔨🔨🔨 keepnailing passion gratitude

{ h o b n a i l } Came across this little shade-less hobnail lamp while antiquing in Bountiful Utah. I repainted it from black to a nickel color and added a decorative bulb in place of a shade. Coffee table with cedar base and concrete top. Only problem is it’s too big for this room. Would this be something anyone would want in their house? It could also be a good table for outside

Slicing 1 7/8" ambrosia maple with the New Bosch track saw. Easy peasy. Power on tap for sure. Cut was smooth and ready for a glue-up. Notice I am using the FSN style rails with connector in the middle. The saw glides right over the connector that aligns both rails perfectly. The Bosch tracksaw is compatible with Festool & Makita rails as well but cuts off the splinter guard when beveling. See t.ernsberger recent post on this. More to come! Model: GKT13-225L Price: $549 saw kit (rails extra) Available: Now Features: 13 amp motor with constant speed under load management Variable speed: 3,600 - 6,250 rpm 2" cut depth on track (1 3/8" at 45 °) Single pivot point – provides bevel cuts from -1° (for slight undercuts) to +47° cuts. Swiveling dust port Easy blade-change system – quick three-step blade swap with on-board hex key Specialized 48-tooth 6-1/2 blade track saw blade – designed for clean, precise results 12.5 foot power cord Stores in the new style L-Boxx 4 case with a nice rigid foam insert Made in Germany boschtoolsna boschtools tracksaw precision madeingermany carpentry woodworking finishwork finishcarpentry finishcarpenter workshop workflow woodworker construction details contractor diy diyproject toolsofthetrade handyman instagood trimcarpenter trimcarpentry mafell Germany

{ s i m p l i c i t y } Lately having pictures or mirrors or art actually hang on the walls feels cluttered for some reason. So I opted for a sofa table that my decor could rest on instead. tbt This was a mildly mind numbing slatted ceiling system I made and installed in 2014. It is in wine cellar that is nearly as big as my house. The clients were great, and they were very happy with the finished product. Made from douglasfir (unfinished) and poplar (painted black to match the ceiling). With a tolerance of less than .003 for each space (there were almost 170 spaces across the room) a proper jig was a must wood work woodworker woodworking finish carpentry carpenter finishcarpentry finishcarpenter finishwork diy doityourself craftsman craftmanship throwbackthursday itsaliving turningsawdustintogroceries

There's quite a lot that goes into an elaborate design like this one, but it's so worth it. At this point, you really start to get a feel for how the end result will be. Putting roundovers on the slats for the bed I’m making and have to say this router is perfect for that task. As odd as it looks it’s easy to maneuver with one hand and can knockout these roundovers in no time.
