•• ARE YOU LISTENING? •• • • Hey! Did you know you don’t have to be on a “diet” or work out everydaylike all the time?? • • Sure there are times we set goals, or we are ready to make healthier / more active changes to our livesbut being extreme is never the solution. • • I’m not gonna lie, I stopped working out for a few months over the winter. My body wanted rest, and I chose to listen. I didn’t stop being active completely, but instead of forcing myself to workout when I didn’t want to, or pressing my body to the point of discomfort or injury, I allowed myself to chill the f out. • • If you put a constant pressure on yourself to eat “perfectly” or hit all your workouts to meet these short term goals, you’re opening up the potential of creating a negative relationship with food & working outand that’s just not what we’re here for guys • • Because I allow myself to take breaks & don’t ALWAYS pay attention to what I’m eating, I find myself loving healthier foods & the gym overall way more. There is no constant pressure or “I don’t want to’s” that turn into quitting completely, because I listen to my body. WEIRD RIGHT?! • • Don’t be afraid to take the slower path. Ideally, if you’re on a health & fitness journey, you are looking to create LIFE LONG habits. So don’t burn yourself out on the short game. The look at the end is me saying "why the 🤬 cant I figure this out" I'm having such a hard time forming a mind-muscle connection doing any form of cleans and especially this mornings hang squat cleans. I know what it should look like, and how to do it in theory but as soon as I pick up the bar my brain just cant get it together. I think about the parts of it I need to clean up or have been given pointers on & something else gets outta whack 🤦🏻‍♀️. Nevertheless, I am thankful that my body has the ability to take on any challenge I give it and this one is no different than any of the others! With working on form outside of crossfit, consistency and keeping a positive mindset one day I will nail every clean 👊🏻 . Some things I've found to be helpful when I'm having trouble are: Having someone video tape to watch back later and analyze every part of my bodies movements is definately a huge help! Sometimes I cant figure things out from people telling me but watching myself do something it's easy to identify Performing the excercise very slowly and breaking it down into sections (my homework) Flexing your target muscle group between sets Asking for help!
