Carbsa word that over the past 30 Years has developed a bad reputation. It’s often met with fear and many fad diets come with cutting this important nutrient out completely because it will make you fat if you eat it right?! STOP Let us set the record straight here ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ The biggest problem is thinking of carbs as good or bad. We think of carbs as only pizza, pasta, chips, bread and immediately classify it as “Don’t eat it because it’s carbs and it’ll make you fat.” 🙄 But if you examine the food closely you’ll see that carbs are not the only caloric variable present. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ So if you look at the picture above, you’ll see that on the left are fruits and veggies which contain mostly carbs but are lower in calories. On the right you see foods that are carbs but also include calories from protein and fat as wellwhich make it higher in calories. 1 gram of fat is equivalent to 9 calories which is more than the 4 calories per gram in carbs and protein. Therefore it’s the caloric balance in foods (macros) that determine body composition and NOT CARBS! Rememberreducing body fat is always about ENERGY BALANCE. You must Create a negative balance (calorie deficit) and thatNOT cutting out carbsis what helps us lose fat.
