Their food is always tasty & everyone is super friendly. I like the Pollo Saltado, similar to Lomo Saltado except with chicken instead of beef. So delicious! 🗒: Fried spinach portabella mushroom dumplings. Sweet n’ spiced wings. Five spice calamari. 🤔: It was good af.  I didn’t get a pic of the wings, but boiiiiiii they were definitely 1 of the best tasting set of wings I’ve ever had.  I ordered 2 (shared some with my fransss) but they were just SO GOOD.  It was sweet, salty & spicy.  I normally don’t do sweet & spicy.  I think it’s an odd combination, but I’m glad I took a chance.  The calamari had been perfectly fried to a golden crisp & the fried dumplings were fulfilling & wholesome.  My friend got the spicy sesame chicken ginger dumplings (not pictured) & it was okay but I didn’t like the texture – possibly because it got soggy idk, but something threw me off about the minced chicken.  If you like spinach & if you like mushroom…like ME, go with the spinach portabella mushroom dumplings fried!YUMMMMMMMM. 😋: HOT. Dim lighting, good food & a chill ambiance.  We were even offered house made shots.  If I was free tonight I’d be there.  I spent my 24th birthday at Verlaine.  They have happy hour from 5pm-10pm.  I should just end the review right there, but that would be disingenuous. The food was great.  The vibes were really chill.  They have tables, couches, a full bar, the whole nine yards.  The layout was really cute.  I plan on going back but I plan on making it a pre-game type spot.  For me, just having a baby & all it was the perfect place to celebrate & go right back home to baby. ACALMNIGHT.  Our server did her job, but she seemed a little antsy & hopped-up at times. She also looked like the only server that Wednesday night. 💃🏽: GO. Today’s dinner: rice with a lot of veggies 😍 Recipe: 1 onion 1 garlic clove 1 red pepper 1 zucchini 2 carrots 250g champignons Soybean sprouts 100g tofu (smoked or natural) Salt, pepper Soy cuisine Sweet soy sauce Nutritional yeast Heat some oil in a pan. Chop the onions and fry them on medium heat, then add the garlic. Cut the pepper into dice and add them to the pan. Let it fry on medium heat for 5 minutes, add a bit of sugar to neutralise the bitter taste. Cut the zucchini and carrots and add them to the pan. Let it fry on medium heat for another 5-10 minutes. Cut the champignons and add them and the soybean sprouts to the pan. While letting it fry, cut the tofu in dice and fry it on medium heat in a seperate pan. Put salt, pepper and paprika to taste and add it to the veggie mix. Spice the mixture with salt, pepper and sweet soy sauce and add some soy cuisine as well as nutritional yeast to give the sauce a creamy taste. Serve with whole-grain or basmati rice. niceeating Sometimes simple things put us in front of difficult tasks. So now I have been asked recently how to fry the chicken steak so that it is soft and juicy? In fact (as always in cooking) there are several methods for this happiness. However, it is most practical and effective for me to fry with subsequent dipping in the oven. For this purpose, the chicken fillet must be pulled out of the refrigerator in advance (for half an hour), so that the room temperature is reached. Over time, warm the oven to 180 degrees. For two steaks, mix 1 tablespoon of flour with one teaspoon of paprika or curry (spices only for color and taste, but choose what you like). Chicken fillet rinse and wipe with a towel. Cut off all veils and grease. Grind a little 1 tsp of fillet. mustard Salt and pepper. Then it is easy to wipe in a mixture of flour-spices and shake excess flour. Hint: 5 minutes before cooking, you can switch the oven to grill and lubricate the chicken with a marinade to make it even more delicious and original.
