Ras Shirvale (a Traditional Recipe From Konkan) Shirwale is again a very authentic dish from Konkan region.It is basically rice noodles soaked in jaggery flavouried coconut milk. For rice noodles. 2 cups Rice flour. 2 cup Water(Boiling hot) Salt to taste 1 tbsp Oil For Ras. 2 cups grated Coconut. 1/2 cup grated Jaggery. Salt to taste. 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder. Method: For Noodles. In a big vessel bring 2 bowls water to boil (Same quantity as the rice flour) To this,add a pinch of salt and 1 tbsp oil . To the boiling water add the rice flour, stir quickly, turn the flame off and remove vessel from the flame and put the lid on. While the mixture is still hot, mix it well, and make cylinder shaped big rolls. Take a big stock pot filled with water and bring it to a boil. When it starts boiling put these cylinders in it. Normally these will sink. after a while they will re-surface.When they come back to surface,thats the sign that they are ready. Sev press Take the re surfaced cylinders and put them in the noodle ‘press’ or sev press and press out thin noodles on a plate. Please ensure that the plate is greased with oil or else these noodles will stick to the plate. For Ras. Grind together grated coconut and water to form a smooth  paste. Pass it through a stainer pressing firmly to extract all the juices.To this juice add salt,jaggery and cardamom powder.Stir well till jaggery is completely dissolved Soak hot freshly made noodles in prepared ras and serve. After our 2 hour morning trail walk in Alishan park, we were famished as the weather was cold, drizzling and we were out since 7am. Discard the tea bags and let the tea cool. 2. After your tea is cooled. Combine sweetened condensed milk to your liking, powdered milk and evaporated milk to achieve your desired consistency. I like mines creamy. 3. Refrigerate until ready to enjoy 🥰 If desired, you can add ice cubes to serve but I don’t like mines diluted! Traditionally you would serve this in a cup in an ice bath. Finally tried out the new comvietnamese. Who else has tried this place and what are your thoughts ? My experience was meh, our server forgot my friends order and he ended up getting his food five minutes before closing 😾 the food was bad for the price. Not to mention they go way overboard with mushroom seasoning.
