So last weekend, we made the big decision to welcome this incredibly sweet soul into our lives and give him the happily ever after he deserves. Surrendered to the rspcavictoria at 9 months of age, through no fault of his own, this guy is mature beyond his age, despite still being a puppy trapped in a (really) big dog's body.
He was in the loving care of the RSPCA for four weeks before he was ready to be put up for adoption. During this time, he had his rear dew claws removed and the staff spent a lot of time working with him to rebuild his trust in humans, as he was understandably quite shut down as a result of being surrendered.
The RSPCA have done an amazing job with him and he has already improved in leaps and bounds in such a short period of time. We are excited and committed to continuing his training, allowing him to reach his full potential and watching him grow into an even more balanced dog than he is today.
Koa is besotted by his new BFF and has welcomed him into our home with the official Newfy greeting of covering him in slobber from head to paw, which he was totally cool with 😂.
Sabre was his name, but we thought we'd start his new beginning with a new name.
Everyone, meet Solomon 🐶
