When it comes to cardio, I’ll be honest…I hate running!⁣ ⁣ Well, that’s not entirely true. ⁣ ⁣ I like doing sprints. But I hate jogging.⁣ ⁣ Not only is jogging boring and takes a long time to do to get any benefit from, but it is definitely not the best form of cardio when it comes to burning fat and building muscle.⁣ ⁣ That’s where High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) comes into play.⁣ ⁣ Doing interval work such as sprints is more effective at burning fat and keeping you in a fat burning state AFTER you workout, and it even helps preserve lean muscle mass much better than long bouts of steady state cardio.⁣ ⁣ Don’t believe me? Look at sprinters vs. marathon runners.⁣ ⁣ Who has a lot more lean muscle on them?⁣ ⁣ That’s right. The sprinters!⁣ ⁣ Now if you like to go for a jog once in a while or once a week or whatever then that’s totally fine!⁣ ⁣ But just don’t use that as your main form of cardio if you are trying to burn fat and build muscle.⁣ ⁣ One of my favorite workouts to do is to do a 40 meter sprint, immediately stop, turn around, and sprint back the other way, and then get behind my truck and push it for at least a good 20-30 seconds.⁣ ⁣ This will definitely get your heart rate up and will give you a big pump in your legs.⁣ ⁣ Just find an empty parking lot and you’re good to go!

My current goal is to get something kind of overhanging while bouldering. Couldn't even send a V1 yet. I need to GetStrong and maybe not be 212 pounds :P Regardless I'm quickly falling in love with this sport. It's interesting as hell and everything is different. Lifting is great but this is too. I have a cut coming in a month and change and climbing is definitely going to be a large part of that.

Here are some great glute bridge variations! If the gym is busy grab a dumbell and do these exercises on leg day! I usually do all three of these one after the other with no break for an extra good burn! 15-20 reps are ideal all depending on the weight of the dumbbell 💪🏽

Take planks to the next level Credit: dr.jacob.harden So many exercises that are touted as reducing injury risk are simply so low load that they won't do anything for you. And really the thing that is going to help reduce your risk the most long term is building the capacity of your body. And if you want to do that, training is going to have to be hard The purpose of having various progressions and regressions of exercises is to find the one that will provide and adequate challenge to the system without inducing excessive fatigue Many people starting out need regressed versions. They're easier to learn with due to low complexity, can help establish body control, and can build that base strength they need Eventually though, things have to get harder. Progressive overload is necessary to continue adapting Now when we have a bar with weights on it that progression is pretty straightforward. Do more weight, reps, or sets over time In bodyweight work, it might not be so clear. Here the progression often comes from changes in body position or manipulation of levers The plank for example can be made much harder by taking the elbows in front of the shoulders. Knowing this opens up a lot of options for us for progression Try out some of these advanced plank options if you're finding holding the standard plank to be easy. Keep challenging the system. Keep advancing. My transformationtuesday putting pictures side by side is always awesome. You also realise how much scales are a looooad of rubbish Fitness and HEALTH is so much more than your bodies gravitational pull on the earth. Scales are “weight”weight is everyyyything- including muscle and water- and us ladies hold on to water in varying levels throughout the month Pic 1- almost 2 years ago, 1 week after having my son and then now. Behind the pictures obviously a lot of sun, a lot of fitness in various forms and ZERO dieting. I track my calories sometimes and know my limits, I am a mindful eater. I definitely don’t restrict or avoid things. However if I’ve done zero movement and eaten my share of food for 3 days in a day I won’t go and indulge in a 3 course meal for dinner 🤷‍♀️ it’s give and take 🤗 The weight in these pics is 66kg and 63kg looks more though heyproving scales are poop Picture 2 - 2014 and now. ZERO difference on the scales! The difference- more weight training (kettles, dumbbells, barbells, bodyweight stuff) and less running. The only real cardio I do now is a run every other week and Zumba every week. My body composition has changed massively and I actually really like my body more now, with more bulk 👌 I am not by ANY means slating any form of exercise. You do what YOU enjoy. The fact is though, with any exercise if you want to see changes in your body composition- gain muscle, you MUST put increasing load on those muscles. “Overload” so you must push and push your limits 💪 losing the fat though- all about calorie deficit and exercise doesn’t even need to come into that 👊 Let’s see your transformations 😁😁😁😁 fitnessinstructor fitnessmotivation

2018 —> 2019 Last year I could not do kipping pull-ups if my life depended on it. I would literally hand from the bar thinking that if I hung there long enough I’d get one eventually. WRONG. Fenomenalt bra uthållighet idag trots slarvig kosthållning, kass sömn och disträ i tankarna det märktes desto tydligare på explosiviteten och mark över 140kg var inte ens lönt att ge mig på. Dagens pass blev någon variant av förvirrad helkropp, träningen har varit oregelbunden ett tag så en reload för att få igång hela kroppen igen verkar som en god idé just nu. Lite återhämtning, lite lärdom och nya tag med bättre förutsättningar nästa gång!
