I’ll be 100% transparent with you. Changing your entire lifestyle at the beginning of your fitness journey is unattainable, and is only a recipe for relapse. It takes time to develop new habits, break old ones, and gradually shift your lifestyle into a healthier, happier version of you. For me, it was choosing a cooked chicken breast dinner over processed food. It was cutting out the bags of chocolate in my pantry that I binged on. This week was such a great week of work and relaxation. I took off all week for Lana's sorting break. Spent it at home getting some springcleaning in and mowing the grass. I ended up getting poison ivy, but all is good! It was nice not having to wake up to an alarm clock. Got my blackbelt training in and weighttraining in. I will miss this, but I'm ready to go back to my normal routine!

Sometimes all it takes to get out of a rut is to remind yourself how far you’ve come ✨ • Lately I’ve been finding myself doing a lot of comparing. Whether this is comparing my mindset, my body, or my schooling, I have been consumed with seeing where others are at. • Yesterday, these comparisons really got to me during my workout until I realized that everyone around me is working towards a better version of themselves, not someone else. • Some have been working for 9 days, others 9 years & it’s not fair to compare my journey against anybody else’s because I’m just seeing a cover. I don’t know what all has gone into writing their inside story. • So I took a step back & looked at some pictures that have illustrated my journey & where I’ve come from. • I looked at the girl in the old pictures & it reminded me of how much growth I have experienced in my mindset & in my fitness in barely a year. • I’m just getting started & I have many goals that I still want to accomplish. • But sometimes it benefits us to look back at the goals we have accomplished in order to remind yourself that you do have what it takes to move forward. • And the only person you can truly compare yourself to & be better than is yourself because you have your own story & your own chapters that make up who you are. • We only get one book to write so don’t spend it comparing your story to someone else who may be in a completely different genre. Something I don’t ever talk about is the moments that I get off track with my diet and lose sight of what my goals are. But today I’m gonna talk about it. The second picture was taken in December- right around Christmas. I was still lifting consistently but I wasn’t eating anything good for me. Most of my meals were unhealthy and I didn’t care what I was putting in my body. The first picture was from a few days ago. A consistent healthy diet is game changing, fam. I feel good and I’m finally starting to get the physique I always envisioned myself having. My dreams are literally becoming a reality with hard work and consistency. I’ve always been back and forth with my eating habits, but healthy eating is becoming a lifestyle for me and I’m loving the results. If you don’t like how you feel or look, do something. Today I’m trying to remind myself that a short workout is better than no workout. During this time of the year I’m really busy and it’s getting harder to find time to spend in the gym. This past week I’ve had a few workouts that were shorter than I’d have liked them to be and was feeling a little frustrated. But I had to remind myself that a 20-30 minute workout is better than nothing at all. Progress isn’t all about going hard every single day, but about consistency. Sometimes it’s so freakin hard to see the changes in your body. I look in the mirror and think: ‘what the hell have I been doing these last 8-9 months?’ I’ve been so consistent with my eating & the gym, but why do I feel like my body looks the same??? But I try my best to push these thoughts to the side and replace it with more positive thinking. I know my body has made minimal changes. I know that it takes time to be where you want to be. Was feeling so strong today! 😸 lower body was so sore from my full body workout a couple of days ago so decided to smash my upper body today and holy crap it felt so good! Exercise because you want to, not because you have to 🙌🏼 Every now and then I get in these ‘training ruts’. A stage where I get anxious or resentful before I go to the gym. I put pressure on myself to have a good session. I get frustrated if I’m lacking motivation or feel like a failure when I rock up to the gym and just can’t be bothered. In times like this I try to recognise these feelings and shift my focus 👊🏼 I focus on the FEELING of training, the FEELING of moving my body and truly stop and decide what kind of movement do I want to do today. Who cares if I haven’t ‘trained legs’ in a week! If I’m in the mood to box and smash out push-ups then that’s what I’ll do! Yesterday was a prime example of this. I put no pressure on myself to train or complete are specific session. I went to the gym for 2 hours and had one of the most sweaty, enjoyable and functional sessions of the month. I get it. 〰️〰️ Freshman year I was bloated more often than not because my body was NOT used to campus food at all. 〰️〰️ Well here I am junior year, and I decided to live on campus again… which means… another campus meal plan! But this time bloating is not an issue and you have no idea how happy I am about that. 〰️〰️ I have been drinking greens every day this year and… let me tell you. Weekend is almost here & hopefully I can go to the gym 😁😁😁 I am beyond over working out at home.
