GARDENING CHAT: spring has begun, and my fear of a second winter like the last winter we had is not looking too likely to happen.
For those who are not awarez, I have quite a green thumb and enjoy growing vegetables.
I was quite lucky in getting an allotment, and this will be the 3rd year of working in it.
It is a huge amount of space. My guess is the greenhouse is 180sqft and the plot itself around 1000 sqft maybe more. So, yesterday was spent sorting out the greenhouse and restoring it to a good working conditions and also 're arranging the wood shed st the bottom, and breaking up all sorts of old crates and fences so they can be used in the fire yes the greenhouse has a fire. It's all a little mad really, but I got what I wished for with it And I've been finding it to be a great challenge and responsibility because they are yours til you die, only if you look after them.
And that means atleast 3 times a week or daily work is going to begin soon. Today's job is now the weeding. But I think that's actually the easy part now.and next week I'm going to start planting, and going up to set fires in the evenings to keep the seedlings warm.
Sorry for the allotment post but that's just where my heads at this weekend really.
And I'm sure im not the only one thinking about spring now.
Will be sure to start taking a few photos whilst I'm up too, and maybe using some wood ash from the fire in glazes, worth a shot atleast
