It's been a really odd week for my fitness programme this week I've trained just as hard as I always do, I hit 2 PR's in my training session with my coach yesterday but for some reason today feels like the longest rest day ever and I don't feel I've been as productive as usual. I'm itching to get back in the gym. My conclusion is that it's all down to mindset. I worked 48 hrs, my sleep has been significantly less, and my have been super busy - starting football, swimming, spellings, homework. Busy busy busy. I'm going to recharge in the next couple of days. I'm gonna sleep. A lot. I'm going to cook. Life update 👇⠀ ⠀ * I'm still on an informal meal prep timeout after crying (literally) over spilled quinoa a couple weeks ago. I expect that I'll gradually work back to full prep mode, but for now I'm enjoying my shortcuts and regret nothing.⠀ ⠀ * In protest of late spring snowstorms, I've packed away my winter clothes and am wearing sun dresses. I DARE YOU TO STOP ME, WEATHER FORECAST.⠀ ⠀ * Related, I've happily added more wrap dresses to my wardrobe. They are my uniform FOREVER.⠀ ⠀ * Thanks to my handy husband, I've now added a DIY step to our home gym. It goes along well with our pull-up bar made out of pipe fittings.⠀ ⠀ * I'm SLOWLY advancing toward my heels on the ground in downward dog, and am beginning to think that my physical therapist is some kind of mystical hamstring whisperer.⠀ ⠀ * I'm LOVING running right now, and have been hitting the trails 2-3 times a week. AN ODE TO MY BEAUTIFUL YOGIS: Teaching yoga is my passion. It's my calling. I'm blessed to say that I love my job. However, as with any job, on some rare days I'll wake up and wish I could stay in bed. I worry that I'm not 'enough'. I'll feel a sting of anxiety at the prospect of getting up in front of a room full of people, and maybe experience a flash of doubt that I won't live up to their - or my own - expectations. But then as soon as I get to the studio - or gym, or bar, or whichever space it is that I'm working in on that day - and begin to interact with the glorious souls who have honoured me by choosing to share their practice with me - without fail I begin to feel lighter. I feel the pressure that I've put on myself melt at the reality of the situation. I'm not perfect, and actually that is fine. I'm reminded just how lucky I am to be in a profession whereby I'm met with so many incredible people each and every day. You're all bloody wonderful. By the end of the class, I'm shining in response to the power of practicing with the beautiful yogis who have joined me on the mat. Yoga truly is Union. Thank you for sharing your practice with me; I feel grateful 🙏

I believe it’s pretty dangerous to put women on stage who possibly already has issues with her body to be judged solely on that. I might ruffle some feathers saying that. But it’s just my opinion. SAFFRON RICE 🍲😋 Here’s another great rice recipe when plain basmati rice just won’t do. The saffon adds such a lovely, bright golden color to the rice, in contrast with the crimson saffron threads dispersed throughout. Saffron rice has a delicate, floral aroma that you can’t duplicate with any other spice⁣ Recipe below 📝👇🏻⁣ ⁣ INGREDIENTS:⁣ 🔸2 cups basmati rice soaked for 15 minutes and drained for 15.⁣ 🔸2 cups peas ⁣ 🔸1.5 cups thick coconut milk⁣ 🔸1 tablespoon melted almond butter ⁣ 🔸4 cloves⁣ 🔸4 cardamom pods; husked⁣ 🔸2 one inch cinnamon pieces⁣ 🔸1 bay leaf⁣ 🔸1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste.⁣ 🔸1 stalk lemon grass; gently crushed⁣ 🔸2 generous pinches of saffron; soaked in a tablespoon of warm water for 20 minutes⁣ 🔸Salt to taste⁣ 🔸Few Almonds and pistachios ⁣ ⁣ INSTRUCTIONS:⁣ Saffron Rice Recipe Using Rice Cooker⁣ 1. Heat almond butter in a small frying pan and fry pistachios and raisins. Drain and keep them aside until ready to use.⁣ 2. Into the same hot almond butter, add the cloves, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick and bay leaf and fry for a few seconds till aromatic.⁣ 3. Add the washed and drained rice, peas, lemon grass and ginger garlic paste and saute for a couple of minutes.⁣ 4. Transfer the above mix to the rice cooker and add the coconut milk, 2.5 cups water, soaked saffron (along with the water) and salt.⁣ 5. Start the rice cooker in the white rice mode.⁣ 6. Once the rice cooked, fluff the rice gently with a fork. Transfer to a serving bowl. ⁣ 7. Top will almonds and pistachios. These have been one of my household’s favourite go-to meal !🍽😋⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ Dosa is a simple , easy to make , appetizing and nutritious dish. It’s a fermented low carb-high protein food, packed with fiber and natural probiotics. And what’s more , it’s VEGAN and GLUTEN FREE as well 😋🍛⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Dosa is one such food item which is extremely appetizing and relatively light, made from rice , lentils and other spices , adding low calories in your body. It's a healthy choice to overcome obesity.⁣ ⁣⁣ A properly made crisp and savory Indian dosa is fairly simple to make, with this caveat: the batter must be fermented overnight for the correct texture and requisite sour flavor.
