I have a dressing table I spent the first 6 month of our house move doing my make up sat on the side of a mattress on the floor so we’ve come along way to get to the point of having a place to actually sit. It’s a tiny little space in our dressing room but it’s a little bit of heaven, especially since I get to sit in front of this massive Magnolia, which is a bit like crack cocaine to us crazy gardening lovers. We’ve used a bit of the remaining worktop from the kitchen which has been secured with some pretty heavy duty brackets and last night we got the mirror up. All that’s needed now is some pretty shelves to display my wares and we’re all set. Oh, and a curtain it’s becoming a little unfair on the neighbours!

Good morning all 😊 It’s my Dad’s birthday today - 81 years old. You wouldn’t really look at him and think he was that age as he’s always kept himself really active - I definitely don’t have his looking genes 😂 It’s also day 19 of the home_interior_uk challenge and the theme is His. This is my oak door frame, canopy and new front door that was all fitted Christmas week by my HO - which I love so much 😍 This is His job doors, windows & conservatories which he has done for many years. Thought it was very fitting for today’s theme 😊 Enjoy your day everyone ❤️ homeinterioruk homeinteriorukchallenge frontdoor oakcanopy oakframe contemporarydoors driveway homeinspo homestyle houserenovation houserenovations homeimprovement houseexterior loveyourhome homestyle houseandgarden houseandhome homesweethome homegoods homeinspiration homeideas

While the rest of the house looks like it’s been hit by a storm, this view is currently calming me down. I promptly delayed my cleaning(yet again) and sat down for a while with my Uke, breathing in the jasmine scent! ❤️ urbanjungle pocketsofmyhome patiodecor mygarden gardendecor houseandgarden urbanjungleblogger myeclecticmix bohostyle hygge brightspaceswelove mydesiswag bloominmycity mygreentreasure sodomino heyhomehey hyggehome house_plant_community jungalow patiojungle bloominmycity decorraaga crashbangcolour spring apartmentherapy lovelightandgratitude colorpop decor homedecor

Balcony scenes these days. This is one corner of the U shaped balcony. The other sides are also full of Petunia's. A late lunch in my mum's kitchen, local sourdough, avo, cheddar and our homegrown Periforme Abruzzese tom with good olive oil, S&Pevery meal just about involves tomatoes this time of year but they're just so darn delicious! First batch of passata finished at mums while our kitchen is being renovated, another round of passata tonight and then the sauces, straight tom, then tom and chilli and with the final harvest in the coming weeks, chutneys. Our passionfruit are ripening too, so I think I'll pop some on some natural yoghurt with a wee drizzle of local honey for dessert. Sorted. 😋🍅🍯 simpleisbest goodfood countrykitchen harvesttable harvest tomatoes tomatoseason tomato organic polytunnel summer sunshine countryside organicgardener homegrown vegpatch organicgardenermag countryhome farmlife country farmhouse organicgardener gardensofinstagram gardeningaustralia houseandgarden farmhousestyle epicgardening countrystyle countrylife huonvalley tasmania

Rock like shaped white oak chopping board. When design and food safety are paramount. The contrasting parallel dovetailed crossbeams add that added extra. Nice design sands_made The oil really highlighted the colour variations.

Rug Up! You can dramatically change a room simply by adding a floor rug or runner. Don’t be afraid to go for a bold accent colour or pattern to really add character. Match cushions or small decorative items to the colour accents of the rug and you’ll feel like it’s an entirely different room! This stunning arrangement from freshome is inspiring us. RepostPlus melissa_penfold - - - - - - Vines can become shutters on windows, add a layer of texture to bare walls, or keep old buildings looking fresh. Twining, trailing, climbing plants - if we were to be strict about the definition of vines there would be about 70 species in the vine family which can cling and climb via tendrils. Great for covering large spaces speedily. Grape vines have beautiful leaves. In warmer climates, bougainvillea and Jasmine will go wild - adding colour and fragrance to a fence or wall. Ives and creeping fig will create a flat backdrop if you keep them in check (cutting them back to prevent redundant layering). Should they trail, or climb? That’s entirely up to you. If you prefer your vines to climb - most, need some help to cling from a trellis, wire system, arbor or pergola - and can be trained to cover nearly any surface. Their long stems latch onto walls, to grow upwards toward the light. The more difficult it is to reach your vines for maintenance tasks such as pruning, the more work. I missed the boat! Left my glass in too long in a bowl/pot mold. So - its over slumped and condensed down! (The piece i used to trial this looked like an upside down hat - hence the weird middle bit). Things dont always go right the first time - like most artists, there is lots of trial and error before a piece meets the ‘for sale status’! glassart artglass kilnformedglass art tauranga mountmaunganui glass interiordesign homeandgarden gardenandart glassblowing blownglass studioglass houseandgarden architecture beads glassbeads castglass fusedglass nzglass glassworkshop glasslesson glassclass artclass

Day 18 myhousethismonth • through the window • A bit of insta reality here as this picture was taken the day we did the decking this year so there’s power tools galore as you look through the windows!A productive start to the week though this week as I’ve finished the last of the umpteenth coats of paint on the front door today. Fitting the door furniture tomorrow and we’ve ordered new glass to go in the fanlight above it - sometimes it’s the small things that feel like the biggest wins! We’ve also had the doors for the floor to ceiling cupboards in the kitchen cut so hopefully more to follow on that soon. The open cupboards have not been conducive to insta worthy kitchen shots, so this is just great! Finally this week we’re really focusing on getting the hallway decorating finished as I just can’t wait to see all the panelling painted and get some pictures on the walls 😃 • • • slidingdoors renovation renovating edwardianrenovation decking houseandgarden houseinspo homereno reno rearextension renovationreality renovationprogress renovationproject renovationdiaries

While half the furniture in our house sits on the verandah during our renos, Bruce still finds his favourite spot to squeeze into and enjoy the morning sun. Another beautiful autumn day and we're grateful for it, allowing the trades to get on with the work on the cottage without the constant disturbance of rain. Fingers crossed it continues for the next few days while they close walls back up 🌞🤞👷 PS ignore the garden atm, I am, we'll give it the attention it needs once stage 1 of the renos are done goodmorning hellosunshine chickensofinstagram cottagelife autumn organic countryside organicgardener homegrownfood vegpatch organicgardenermag countryhome farmlife country gardendesign farmhouse homegrown sprayfree organicgardener gardensofinstagram gardeningaustralia houseandgarden farmhousestyle epicgardening countrystyle countrylife huonvalley tasmania
