Day 5 veganforaweek ✅ Real talk: this is harder than expected. With cardio every day & lifting several days a week, I’m used to eating a LOT of protein with every meal, with meat being in at least 2 if not every meal. My hormones have kinda gone thru a loop and I’m craving some chicken (but I haven’t caved yet) 🍗 I’m upping my protein by eating lots of quinoa and protein shakes throughout the day, and attempting some tofu (which tastes kinda like a chewy jello mush - sorry not sorry) BUT, I have enjoyed the absence of dairy in my diet, which is a major win for the future. 2 more days till this southern boy has some shrimp n grits 🍤

Part of Sun ☀️ Salutations, and almost all methods of yoga utilize it in their flows. It helps lengthen the spine, strengthens the muscles in the chest and shoulders, and rejuvenates/ energizes the body! Sometimes this feels like the hardest pose of the class, and that’s ok! The more you practice, the better it will feel each time. 2015 vs march 2019 I've been training my shoulders since 2011 and it wasn't until 2016 they shaped up. What changed was that I hired a coach. If you're struggling to see results on your own (work, health, finance, etc), learn from someone with experience whether it be online, in person or via a book they wrote. Their experience is valuable because what they've learnt in x amount of years, can be shared in minutes so that YOU save time. So for 5 years, did I waist my time training shoulders? Well no but I could've saved a lot more time though 😝however, what I developed during those years made the most impact the following years and that was DISCIPLINE. Developing discipline has helped me in all aspects of life ESPECIALLY when it comes to transforming my body. CONSISTENT HABITS + TIME = DISCIPLINE. During those years, I've learnt more about nutrition and other health/fitness related stuff that could help take my progress to the next level - all very valuable to me. Now that I'm with the right coach, I have the right guidance to execute my fitness goals 😤 So stop quitting on yourself, put in the work and embrace the journey!

Shoulder problems? Lack stability when pressing? Feel like you lack stability to create max output? Give these 3 shoulder health exercises a go 1. Single Arm Kettlebell Press. - this will challenge your stability from your wrist all the way to the musculature of your upper back and shoulder. Holding it upside down will make it very wobbly so you will have to “brace” everything to keep it as still as possible. Take your time, with this, slower is better 2. Band Press. - As you can see the band is pulling my arms forward trying to make me internally rotate my shoulders. So it forces me to keep an externally rotated position and engage muscles around my shoulders and scapula to do so. It also forces me to to keep this through an entire range of motion of a press. These are a lot harder then they look 3. Not sure what these are called. Band Raises? - Here I grab the band, pull it apart slightly to create tension and raise it to above my head and back down, while aiming to maintain that tension throughout the full range. Again, this will help you engage your muscles around your shoulder and scapula throughout close to a full range for the shoulder joint The better you get at these movement the more stability you will be to create on pressing and other upper body movements, and you can help prevent or help rehab shoulder injuries.
