Plot: When a group of extraordinary scientists at STAR Labs accidentally overload their latest invention, the Particle Accelerator, Metropolis is hit by a wave of dark matter energy, creating an absurd amount of Meta-Humans; people with unimaginable capabilities unlike any other. Dr. Tina McGee, her lover Dr. Darwin Elias, and their mentor Dr. Silas Stone work tirelessly at trying to find ways to stop any oncoming threat. They learn a few of their employees, the wise Dr. Martin Stein, and the rebellious Ronnie Raymond have merged together when they were working on their latest invention; The Firestorm Project. Tech wiz Cisco Ramon is granted vibrational abilities and the medical genius Caitlin Snow is granted ice manipulation. They try fighting the new misunderstood rogue Pied Piper, but during a battle, Martin Stein is accidentally mortally wounded. He separates his connection to Ronnie to spare his life. The impressive doctors are met by T.O. Morrow and his assistant Jefferson Jackson. Using their combined knowledge, T.O. Morrow helps merge Jackson with a slowly dying Raymond, creating a new Firestorm duo. When the new villain Doctor Alchemy starts causing mayhem, the team at STAR Labs is dragged into a conspiracy. They soon learn T.O. Morrow is working with Doctor Alchemy, a man named Albert Desmond. To try and combat them, Caitlin Snow, as her alter-ego Killer Frost, lets go of her moral code and kills Doctor Alchemy, however T.O. Morrow escapes. In the final episode, the team has to take down Snow in a saddening battle. The season wraps up with the team vowing to stick together to track down any loose metas. Meanwhile, Dr. Tina McGee secretly hands over Killer Frost to Rick Flag and Amanda Waller.
