My best piece of advice is this: Be weird.
Be a weirdo. Really. Laugh at the silly things, even if other people aren’t laughing. Laugh loudly. Smile if you want to, make funny faces. Say the thing that’s on your mind, even if other people aren’t doing that. Wear what you want, even if it’s not “on trend” or doesn’t match. Like the music you like, even if it’s not the popular stuff. Sing loudly, even if it’s off key. Dance, even if other people aren’t. Do the things that light your heart up, even if no one else thinks they’re cool.
Don’t care if doing these things makes you weird. Because you want to be weird. I am weird. Your father is weird. Our weirdness may embarrass you at different points in your lives (okay, it def will), but then you’ll come to appreciate it down the line. You are from a family of weirdos, so it is inevitable for you. You *want* to be different, you don’t want to be like everyone else. So don’t worry about that. Don’t waste your time on it. Being your own quirky self is the goal. The sooner you embrace who you are, the better life is, the happier you are.
That’s what I want for you. Happiness and weirdness.
I love you all.
