I’m sad/mad today.
We have a bright, ugly yellow fire hydrant in our front yard. So, last year I insisted that we plant a butterfly bush in front of it to hide it. 🦋
My builder husband, told me that it’s against code or whatever to do that. I was like, whatever, it’s ugly and I’m planting it there. He dug the hole anyway for me😬
Y’all, this little $8 butterfly bush grew SO big and beautiful. Now, almost a year later, and about to explode with beautiful purple blooms, was CHOPPED down today by the water department, I’m assuming.
No warning. No note, “hey, we chopped down your beautiful bush, sorry”! Just remnants of chopped butterfly bush left on my curb.
I could have transplanted it somewhere else, if they gave me a warningOR I guess I could have listened to my hubby and just not put it there in the first place.🤪
It did a great job covering the ugly yellow hydrant for a year.
R.I.P. beautiful butterfly bush 😪
