At the height of my bird obsession, I was driving out to Western Mass and saw a beautiful flock of pigeons perched on electric wires on an overpass. It took a while to figure out how to get to them from the highway, and I snapped some photos with my phone. But there wasn’t enough detail to go big with the images, and I kept thinking about those birds, hoping I’d see them again on my nest trip west.
Weeks went by until finally, I couldn’t take it anymore, and I drove the fifty or so minutes toting my big camera in the hope that the birds would be there. Happily, they were! This is one of the pieces that came out of that photoshoot, hanging in the studio just before I packed it for delivery. It’s part of the upcoming Language of Arts show at Edgewater Gallery (Treble Clef, 12 x 44 inches, mixed media on wood panel). mixedmediaart contemporaryart hollyharrison languageofart edgewatergalleryvt birdsandstripes artforsale womenmakingart obsessedwithbirds birdsonwires putabirdonit
