“Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.” Love when I hear that quote. Esp on a Sunday when the last thing I want to do is an hour long workout. But what I want is so much bigger than the temporary struggle I faced today.
I started and stopped programs for years, pretty much all my adult life. And I always felt defeated and disappointed with myself. Until I stopped stopping. Until I chose to not give up on myself.
It wasn’t easy. I can’t tell you how many “tricks” I tried and oh, there were so many pep talks. But every day it became easier to show up, until finally one day it became just part of my life.
So from one habitual program quitter to another. Stop, stopping. The other side of the struggle is nearer than you think but we don’t get any closer to it by quitting.👊🏼
