Of all the things I hope to help my learn, one of the most important is to never confuse “what they do as a profession”, with “who they are”.
It’s so easy to get caught up in “what” our are doing—the lessons, activities, competitions, awards—that we can lose sight of “who” they are. If my never win another ward, never compete in a dance show or championship for sports, never end up on honor roll, and don’t get a scholarship for college—guess what? They will still have VALUE and be amazing individuals. Their value does not come from outside, worldly sources.
And neither does yours. Even as adults I find that we do this to ourselves. We look at our friends accomplishments, their jobs, their vacations, their homes—and think that if ours aren’t as good as theirs that maybe we don’t have any value.
That is simply not true. It is a lie. YOU have value. You have value simply because you are a son or daughter of God. Don’t let anyone or anything let you forget that ❤️
