"I want to stop dieting, but I'm scared I'll gain weight."
"I don't trust myself around food."
"I'm going to lose control, binge, and gain weight."
How many of you feel this way?
This is the dieters dilemma. And something I struggled with myself. For years I SO badly wanted to be able to eat "normally" and be FREE from restricting food
But I was terrified of weight gain. In the past when I 'cheated' I would go all-out, binge until my stomach hurt, and then try 'undo' the damage by over-exercising or crash Dieting
So, I stuck to my tracking and dieting because it felt "safer"
Thing is? Dieting is literally a TRIGGER for overeating.
If you've been yo yo dieting for a long time, eating salads all the time or eating very less food, you're HIGHLY disconnected from your body's internal cues
You've been sending signals to your body that:
It's starving! It can't be trusted around food! It doesn't deserve to eat
So - it's normal to have urges to overeat
BUT, when you drop the rules, give yourself permission to eat, and actually listen to your internal cues, your body WILL learn that you aren't going to starve it anymore. Your desire to overeat will decrease
You will reach a weight that you can maintain with food freedom. That's what I focus more on
If your your body is past its natural weight? you may lose weight.
Point is: It's OK. Your body will FEEL good, and you will be able to MAINTAIN it without obsessing or yo-yo-ing
(And look: If you're "goal weight" requires that you obsess about food to maintain it It's not a healthy weight for your body to be at, because mentally you're trapped)
Continuing to yo yo DIET is just leading you further to disconnection from your own internal signals, and trust me your body never gonna maintain the weight you have lost by restricting food or by yo yo dieting.
Hence its important to stay close to your regular indian food as much as you can when you are trying to lose any weight. Your diet plan must be versatile and should include variety of foods❤️ Does this makes sense to you? Which topic you wanna know more about? Please guide me in comment😉
