ATTENTION MUSICIANS: As a musician, if you are rushing and incredibly busy all week with your jobs, homework, assignments, exams, etc., you sometimes don’t have time to transcribe a tune that you’ve been trying to for a while. I definitely know that feeling, and after searching on Google Images for any form of chart for an underrated standard, you become discouraged when you can’t find a lead sheet. For the moments when you don’t have a lot of spare time to transcribe, send whichever song you want done to me and I’ll make sure to write it out for you in a timely fashion! For a small Venmo fee ($3-$10 usually), depending on how long the transcription is and how much time it will take to complete, you will have your completed pdf transcription in a few hours at most. Just send me a YouTube link to the specific melody/form you desire, and I will get started on it for you. I definitely want to reach more people with a service like this, so share this to anyone you think could also benefit! If anyone is interested, you can just Facebook message me whenever! Again if you have friends that would be interested in a quick service like this, share it with them and send them my link!

The dim light of your eyes are the soft stars that make me pass through out the dense umbra. Generating his own power, they show me the invisible connections between each one of us, breaking all kind of imaginary frontiers. Every single glance is a sound that builds structures that united us, every tender look makes a new bond, a new string that vibrates in deep consonance with our feelings. Behold the mighty power of music that is capable of unity us as humans. Behold the sounds that keep us together. Let your music transcend. musicstudents musicwriter musicstudent filmscoring filmscores musicarranger musicarrangement musiccomposition musiccomposer musicschools musicteacher musicproductions musicproducer musictheory musicdirector musicplayers musiclessons musiclove musicaltheatre music musico musiclovers sheetmusic musictranscription musicedition musicengraving musiclife scores musicians

Ok, I swear this is the last lick I'm going to extract from this song. This seems like a minor/major hybrid. That's totally cool but it means that some fingerings are weirder than usual. Mainly because I looked at it through my minor pentatonic tinted glasses. Again, beware of micro bends. musictranscription musicnotation guitartabs guitarlicks

One more lick from this awesome song. Notice micro bends. The first tiny bend isn't even 1/4. The second one is closer to 1/4. The last bend is 1/2 which raises the note to major third. While it's not "in the scale", that maj 3rd sounds awesome. Also, those quick 16th notes aren't played very precisely but I think I made the right call to notate them the way I did. musictranscription musicnotation guitartabs guitarlicks

Here's one more lick from the same song. There might be a grace note right before the last bar. If there is, it's most likely a pull-off 7-5 on G string (Emin shape) This time I wrote 185 bmp for tempo. Yesterday I thought it was closer to 190. I don't care too much about it. musictranscription musicnotation guitartabs guitarlicks

This seems to be in E mixolydian. There's E chord in the first bar and then D and A in the second one but I'm not sure how closely Angus follows them. I wrote scale degrees as if he played only over E. Ok, this one is weird. At first I was bending notes by interesting amounts before I realized that the recording I have is probably a bit sharp. I adjusted it but that didn't fix all of the problems. Some notes still seem to be out of tune but it all sounds totally fine in the song. I don't know. I'm lost and confused. I'm totally displeased with this transcription and I'm sharing it just because I want to upload more or less daily. I don't think I'm going to use it. I didn't even add different fingerings. musictranscription musicnotation guitartabs guitarlicks

The choice of notes here is simple beyond belief. What saves this lick is the rhythm. The triplet creates at least some tension even with very consonant sounds and then it all resolves with a tonic falling straight on a beat. Only E and G shapes are in the correct octave. I could've used open string and made all shapes sound in the correct octave but I want to keep things in a box as much as possible. musictranscription musicnotation guitartabs guitarlicks

I'm not sure if he plays it all in one position but I tried to make it fit each box just for the sake of exercise. As always, some fingerings aren't too comfortable but this occurs with almost every lick so I shouldn't even mention that. I usually allow myself to use slides or hammer-ons / pull-offs instead of difficult bends (especially with index finger). Anyway, for some reason it sounds to me like a signature Angus lick. Very cool B-) musictranscription musicnotation guitartabs guitarlicks

This is what I'm looking for! There are only three notes in this lick but rhythmic variation and articulation make it sound so much more interesting than bland notes would. It's played over C shuffle but I wrote it as C minor lick. Anyway, it works over both minor and dominant. musictranscription musicnotation guitartabs guitarlicks

I like how it ends with a bend to b7. Really tasty. Few shapes require some fast bending with index finger. Good luck with that. I cheat and play that note one fret higher. This way I only need to bend a semi-tone. musictranscription musicnotation guitartabs guitarlicks

Saturdays are for transcription! Keeping up with my musical resolution to transcribe more in 2019. UPDATE: I’m still slow as a snail. 🐌 Don’t me about your software preferences and sounds and all that. Tbh I just straight up don’t care. 😬 Same for phrasing, dynamics I’m just training my ear, folks!

💫Today, I wanted to pay tribute to Nina Simone. Her rendition of the Scottish folk song, “Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair” is beautiful and haunting. This song is really special because it takes the narrative of the singer’s personal experiences. I equate this song to the endless beauty, fortitude, resilience, intelligence, and originality/creativity of black people. (PS - I transcribed this in a couple of hours, so it’s not perfectAlso, I had no idea it was Nina Simone’s birthday until I opened IG to post this 😮💫!) ninasimone blackhistory blackbeauty blackcommunity blackisthecolorofmytrueloveshair blackhistorymonth scotland scottish folkmusic violin fiddle violinlover wowmusiciand musiciansofinstagram classicalviolin violincover musictranscription

I didn’t set aside enough time to do everything I wanted to do today, so I opted to focus on writing and transcribing. I started trying to write a lead for the song I’m working on and I recorded some of it, but it’s not really much to share. I think I’ll dedicate this week to working on the song though, so there’ll be more to share eventually My right hand nails are also almost grown back enough to comfortably play classical, so I’ll be getting back to that soon as well! I included a bonus video of me and my kitty, Jukka 🤗 Cheers! (Literally.)🍻 P.S. I’ve been pretty tired of IPAs the last few years, but there are so many space-themed cans for IPAs recently that I basically had no choice 🤷🏽‍♀️🚀 spacenerd catsofinstagram
