Ever have a 💩 day and then get to the gym and forget every little thing that angered you today? Because SAME 🙌🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Like I said in my last post I have just been DREADING the gym. We have our little set up in our garage so lately I’ve been working with what’s convenient instead of driving to the gym 🙄 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ but today was the ABSOLUTE worst. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don’t know if it was my patience or frustration or I was overwhelmed or that I was at work on a Saturday or what my deal wasbut everything today just pissed 👏🏼 me 👏🏼 off 👏🏼 to the point to where I literally sat in the bathroom at work and cried BUT I went on with my day, did what I had to do and went home at 5. Finally around 8 decided I needed to get to the gym and I am SO happy I did. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I forget the gym is my outlet for all my frustrations, anger, my alone time. The gym is far more than a place to build muscle and lose weight for me. I need to remember it’s my therapy🙏🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I hate I’ve had this negative headspace the past few days, even weeks. I hate sharing it but I’m just trying to keep it real and maybe help someone else who dreads the gym realize it could have more than one purpose for them like it does for me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ SOOOO with that being said. Blair and who ever else needs this - this is your reminder to get yo 🍑 to the actual gym this week for your therapy sessions 👏🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Positive mindset from here on out friends✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1stphorm iam1stphorm bairaesthetics weekend saturday motivation weekendvibes gym fitness NASM CPT workout npc anbf bikini summer prep mentalhealth therapy gymtherapy

This video is probably boring, but the message is probably one of my most important. - SET UP CORRECTLY. Focus on your liftstake the time to get the set up correct before you hurt yourself. Too many times people will load up the weight on a bar or with dumbbells. Even if you can move the weight, if the form is not correct, that just opens the door for a split second for a slip and injury to happen - FORM: Maybe you can see me do a little shuffle with my upper body, that is where I am pinching my shoulder blades back behind my body. What this does is not only help take out your shoulders and make the chest work, but puts your shoulders in a healthier position. - I also make sure to place my feet on the ground and press through them. All too many times people will put there feet up on the bench, this doesnt really help with anything that I know of, and can put you at risk of falling off the bench losing your balance. - Last thing I will say on this is that my abs are engaged the whole time. Dont let energy out where you dont want it outby getting the core involved you can transfer energy where you want it to go in your lift. This will also help you in your other lifts to be able to use your core when you want to. - Lot to read but hopefully this can help someone. - Try something new today. - nasm cpt nasmcpt trainer personaltrainer personal workout fitness well wellness weight weightloss fit abs form practice bench benchpress chest lift athleanx athlete beaxst muscles new trysomethingnew musclemotivation muscle motivate motivation

Here is a quick glimpse (2 variations of extensions for herniated L5 /S1) into what my week has been like with a first ever L5-S1 disc hurniation. Last Saturday when I lowered my dog to the floor at 3:00 am, I felt some knots that I had in my lower back break apart and I felt something slide. I instantly went down to the ground. I had no idea it was a herniation. I’d never had one before. But anyway, Today is the best I’ve felt all week thanks to an injection yesterday of toradol and Celestone. So I have actually, very carefully with a brace on, been moving around a bit more today. I feel more like a person again. The effects will only last a few days but I’m going to be prepped for an epidural soon. Fingers crossed that the injection helps. Everyone is optimistic that it will, so I’m going to be as well. Anyway, my PT has already given me exercises to work the disc back in to its home. When I do these movements the fire in my entire left leg subsides. In her gym, the pain was completely gone for about 45 minutes! It’s wild to think how these 2 out of the 3 exercises I do in total pulls the disc back away from the nerves. Unfortunately due to the inflammation, the disc works it’s way back to my nerves and then it feels like someone has set a samurai sword on fire and is repeatedly stabbing me from my left ass check to my mid calf. And my left foot feels like it’s resting on a block of ice. No joke. ❄️❄️❄️😥🔥🔥🔥 So, what am I doing in this video? First two reps shown (are actually my last two reps out of 20) are half extensions. I hold each extension for a count of 5, lower and repeat. Then I go directly into a full straight arm extension. I complete 20 reps and hold each rep for 5 seconds. By the end of a full day I’ve usually completed 4-5 rounds of each exercise. There is also a standing Variation I do as well but I just didn’t film it. My triceps, shoulders and chest are definitely being put to work this week. 💥Head on over to my health and fitness page for customized program information at www.facebook.com/califit14 💥💥💥💥 Island Strong Ambassador: Enjoy 20 % off at a www.lislandstrong.com/discount/20% off at cali20 💥

It’s official! 🎉 Good laaawd I was feeling like caffeine-pill-induced Jessie Spano studying for this nasm_fitness test but it’s DONE and I PASSED! I may or may not have screamed like Elle Woods when the proctor handed me my results. Last December, I made the decision to make 2019 all about “doing what feels good.” I didn’t worry about the “how” or the “when”I just focused on the “why.” Have you ever had to stop and get honest with yourself? Have you ever granted yourself the permission to lean in to the uncertainty and just Elsa-it-out and let itttt gooo? It’s not easy, but it does make space for new things to grow 🦋 And the coolest part? The sooner you give yourself the grace to surrender what you *think* should happen, the faster things come into alignment for you. January: Launched www.waterlilyfit.com February: Launched YourMorningMoodRing March: NASM Certified Personal Trainer Three things that have been on my vision board for over three years—that became a reality once I finally got aligned with the “feel-good”—and they all happened the first three months of the year 🙏🏻 Are you conflicted? Confused? Procrastinating? Lean in. Take the first step. Then the second. Then the third, fourth, 167th. Because there’s no time stamp on when you should feel happy/worthy/successfulI’m rooting for you✨

Hi! 👋🏾My name is Jess & I’ve fallen victim to stress. There is no ego here. I believe in sharing b/c we are human as are our lives are not just an IG story highlight reel. We feel everyday. I shared recently that after I took the CPT test, I needed a mental break. I took time off from work, celebrated a bday & took time to recharge. I am still recharging & taking care of me. (I am committed to this forever). There is no perfect process. Over the years I have realized that my stress is internalized. What does internalized stress mean? It’s how your body reacts to a trigger. For instance, I LOVE sleep. If you know me, I love to be in bed by 7 p.m. & call it a night. I love waking up at 5 a.m. Last night I was up till 1 a.m. That is RARE. As a result, I did not have a great workout today when I trained, I showed up & got it done BUT it wasn’t my best. Yes I do not have these amazing workouts each & every time. When I got home, I actually took a nap & listened to my body. I slept for almost 3 hours & gave my mind a chance to rest. My body has been speaking to me & letting me know in many different ways that I am internalizing stress. I share this w/ you not to get sympathy or advice, simply to share that I am a person who is living on this earth as you & I am going through the motions of life. If I did not share this post and/or if you personally know me chances are you would not have known unless you asked me how I was doing, hence the internalization. What have I been doing to help? I recognize what I am feeling & see its impermanence. I check in with myself. Exercise is crucial for me, I workout first thing in the morning & it provides the clarity to start my day & take on the world. I do confide to my folks in my circle of trust. Simply being able to express how I am feeling & to just be heard & not be bombarded w/ solutions is something I am extremely grateful for. I know I am raw w/ posts but I feel that it’s an accurate representation of life. If you do ask someone how they are doing? They say, good, you? The response is, I am fine too. I am so over that! To be vulnerable is scary. Scary can be good. Thank you for reading this personal post 😘💙

Come back szn still in full effect! I love tire slamsI’ve dealt with a lot lately just as we all do at certain times in life. Tire slams are my favorite to let out any daily stressors. If done correctly it’s a great core and full body strength and stability workout. Yesterday I canceled my one month check up cause I’ve been blessed with the knowledge to recovery 2, 3 times faster than what I was originally told. Just how I was told I would never lift heavy squats or deadlifts after I broke my back. I couldn’t accept that. So I read, and read, and read until I had the knowledge to correct my back and beats the odds. Just before this video I was doing 6ft box jumps yet I’m suppose to still be in a boot until April lol like nah not on my terms. I go to the doctor when I break, tear, strainor do anything that’s bringing me severe painI then ignore the “never agains” and teach myself what I need to do to and then rehab my butt offI won’t take no as an answer and neither should you💪💪 • • • personaltrainer nasm certified correctiveexercisespecialist sportsperformancetraining motivation sportsinjury nineinnovations tireslams core exercise mobility stability strength goals manifest passion thirdeye vision houston houstontrainer fitnessmotivation fitness fitspo nevergiveup nevertakenoforananswer

🎶Now and then I let it go, I ride the waves I can't control.
