With only a few weeks left until tax day, it’s another chance to make some smart decisions with your money - especially your tax refund! Remember, this isn’t mula just sent to you from the government as a bonus. It’s money that should have been yours all along! 🤑 Sure, it’s easy & fun to think of how you can use your refund for a luxury purchase but with 43% of taxpayers depositing their refund straight into their savings, don’t you want to help that statistic go up?😉⬆️ One smart way to utilize your tax refund is to put it in your savings account or an emergency fund. If you don’t have either, this is a good amount to start one!👌 You should have about 6-8 months worth of savings in that account. What’s going to be there for you if a surprise major expense slaps you in the face? That luxury purchase or your emergency fund? Yeah, thought so 😏🤷 savings instamoney taxrefund emergencyfund taxseason savingmoney incometax TopicTuesdays moneymindset lawofattraction abundancemindset personalfinance financialfreedom moneytips savvybusinessowner ballher ballhermentorship coreprogram girlbosslife womeninbiz femtrepreneur womenofchic makemoremoney levelup financialwellness personalfreedom wellness investedinyourfuture coremoneycoaching coremoney247

What’s important to you about money? I mean really important? If you dive into yourself and think about what you want in life - now and in the future - you will probably find that what you’re actually spending money on does not align with what you really want. You CAN be financially responsible AND live your best life WITHOUT going in debt! 😉 .

If you really want to start winning with money you HAVE to change your mentality about it. Most people spend their money as soon as it comes in. They can’t wait until payday, and when that check hits the bank they feel like a million bucks. They go out to eat with friends and they pay for an extra round for everyone. They go to the store and buy that TV they saw and really liked because it looked cool on the display. Then when the end of the month comes they wonder why they overdraft, or don’t have any money left for saving and investing. The big players all know that you have to prioritize saving and investing over spending. This doesn’t mean you don’t spend anything, but it means that you pay attention to how your money can make more money FIRST. Change your mentality, and you will start to change your habits. Starting is the hardest part, but once you do you will be glad you did! • • • • finances personalfinance budget debt growth savingmoney debt creditcards money financialfreedom studentloans fitness exercise credit creditcards growth followforfollow likeforlike fitness fun publicspeaker conferencespeaker conference financialwellness financialcoach savings budgeting marriage spouse marriedlife

The unconscious mind holds us back financially Para Español, presiona “ver traducción” al final de comentarios Sounds crazy right? according to author Brent Kessel, here is why: 🌱 We all have something called our “financial core story” • Our core story represents our deepest feelings and beliefs about money • It influences what WE TELL ourselves: what WE ARE LIKE, what WHE CANT and CAN have, and what we MUST or MUST NOT DO • It is so strong and powerful that despite our CONSCIOUS efforts to improve our financial situation on the outside, very little changes on the INSIDE What is the solution then? Here is a look at our April Budget. For those who are new here, we are a 3 person, 2 cat, and 1 dog family living in Northern Minnesota. Daniel is an Engineer and I am a social worker. We left living in Southern California to escape the high cost of living. This total cost was nearly our rent for one Month. This intentional cheaper cost of living frees up money to pay more to our debt each month. Not seen on here is we need to figure out a birthday plan for Daniel and budget it. He wants to see the Upper Peninsula of Michigan which is only a couple hours away. We budget a few ways - we start with every dollar and I like to write it out as well budget encouragement debtfreecommunity . lifehacks . daveramsey debtfreedom debtfreecommunity debtfreejourney instantpot frugalfamily frugal debtfreescream livelikenooneelse goals broke money personalfinance quotestoliveby purejoy encouragement lifestyleblogger studentloans financialfreedom minimalism babysteps liveintentionally girlboss cash progressnotperfection

Have you heard of the Pareto principle? It’s also called the 80/20 rule. The principle states: a small percent of what you do accounts for MOST of your results. It also states: a small percent of people, hold MOST of the wealth. I don’t know how Pareto figured this out, but the original principle was documented in 1896. Pareto at that time showed that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population. Let’s look at Pareto’s principle today: 10% of American’s hold 84% of ALL stocks. The richest 20% of the world make 82% of the worlds income. The top 20% of earners pay 80-90% of Federal Income tax. In the U.S. the top 10% hold 90% of the wealth. Of the 10%, how many of them do you believe are families of color?😔 This reality is what inspired me to champion financial education for our generation. Building wealth seems difficult when you don’t know how to get started. This is what has kept most people out. Today, I teach professionals how they can take steps to join the 10% of the world. Joining the 10% is possible if you are willing to DO what 90% of people aren’t willing to do. If you can discipline yourself, and learn to KEEP a small portion of every paycheck you earn, instead of SPENDING it, and if you invest that money, my promise to you is that you will be part of the 10%. Every dollar you spend, makes someone else rich. Learn to make yourself and your family a priority. If you need guidance, just ask. I’m here to help.

If you have, or plan to have, , start saving for their college fund by investing in a state-sponsored 529 College Savings Plan. For the most part each state-sponsored plan offers the same types of benefits. The biggest differentiators are the management fees and the investments choices themselves. It’s important to note that you are not limited to investing in the state-sponsored plan for the state in which you reside although those plans typically are most beneficial to the residents of their respective states. Either way, what is most important is that funds for your ’s college expenses can grow tax-free and never be taxed at all as long as the funds withdrawn are spent on qualified collegiate expenses. ———————————————————————— NewWealthAttitude PersonalFinance FinancialLiteracy FinancialIndependence FinancialFreedom MyTwoCents PayYourselfFirst MillennialMoney Budget Budgeting DebtManagement DebtFree Savings SavingMoney Investing InvestInYourself CreditRepair CreditCards Finance Money MoneyManagement Entrepreneur BusinessOwner BeYourOwnBoss Motivation BlackWealth SupportBlackBusiness

Apple Card Apple's new mostly-digital credit card that's an extension of Apple Pay promises instant approval, up to 3 percent cash back, no late penalties and virtually no additional fees to use. Issued by Goldman Sachs and Master Card, Apple's disruptive payment card almost seems to be too good to be true. Maybe it is. ⁣ ⁣ We dove into the fine print to see what kind of details we could uncover about Apple's major disruptor payment card. ⁣ ⁣ You still have to qualify⁣ During its presentation on Monday, Apple made it seem like anyone could open the Wallet app, apply for the Apple Card and begin using it a few minutes later. That may be the case for many, but you still have to qualify to be approved for an Apple Card. Apple hasn't shared the details, but made it clear that you will need to qualify:⁣ ⁣ US customers can now sign up for the latest news about Apple Card on apple.com/apple-card. Apple Card will be available to qualified customers in the US this summer.⁣ ⁣ Late payments will cost you⁣ Let's talk about fees. Apple Card won't slap you with fees if you're late to a payment, and there are no annual fees, international fees or fees for going over your limit.⁣ ⁣ Yes, there's a catch. While Apple won't charge you a penalty for missing a payment e.g. no $25 late fee in addition to what you already own you'll still get charged interest. According to Apple's website:⁣ ⁣ Late or missed payments will result in additional interest accumulating toward your balance.⁣ ⁣ https:www.cnet.com/how-to/want-the-new-apple-card-read-the-fine-print-first/⁣ ⁣ 📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈⁣ INVEST FINANCE MONEY WEALTH STOCK INVESTING MAKEMONEY STOCKPICKING JOURNEY WALLSTREET TECH FINTECH MOTIVATION PERSONALFINANCE CONFERENCE SPEND DOLLAR TRADING MARKET SAVINGS BUDGET SPENDING INSPIRATION QUOTE WORKHARD POWER CRYPTO BITCOIN

OPPORTUNITY COST - I've posted a similar illustration in the past but I love this one in particular because it's a massive eye opener. And a lot of people see it and think, "well how come non-smokers aren't rich then?" For the same reason that most people aren't, they don't invest! They take the extra money and spend it at the bar, on food or leisure activities. We all make money mistakes. And on top of our mistakes, we feel horrible about them. Do you struggle with being critical of yourself over a money mistake? Are you plagued with regret over what you did- or didn’t do? Do you keep thinking and thinking and thinking- swirling in a circle—wishing you’d done things differently? To compound our woes, we rarely talk about them. But when it comes to money, we can be extremely self-critical—suffering pangs of regret and remorse- replaying our money mistakes over and over in our head– mostly in isolation. * * * * *It's time to heal. We all can learn and forgive ourselves from our money mistakes. Let's talk. We know talking about it heals.

Want to improve your life? Start with just 2 minutes ⬇️ • • • “If you want to create a good habit, it must be established before it can be improved”- I loved listening to james_clear talking about his book AtomicHabits on journeytolaunch! • • • 💡James outlines that you must actually START a habit before it can be perfected. • • 💡The idea he has is that you first have to make the habit as easy as possible so you have literally no excuse NOT to do it. • • 💡If you want to start going on morning runs 🏃🏽‍♀️ start by just putting on your running shoes - and that’s IT for a week. • • 💡If you make it too hard for yourself - even “I’m going to run for 15 min” - it may be too hard and you’ll quit before you get started. • • • I loved this idea of making the habit so freaking easy for yourself that it’s so silly to NOT do!

Hey debtfreecommunity! 🐝 500 followers is so exciting! I appreciate all of you out there, who are also working your butts off to get yourselves out of debt! 👏🏻👏🏻 So thank you following our journey. My husband and I are 31 in the Chicago area. We have a little one under a year old. We’ve been off and on the debt free journey since we were married in 2013. We bought a house in 2015. After the birth of our daughter (who we call Bee 🐝) we decided to get serious. In 2013 our total debt was just over 100k combined. We had paid off two cars (just get a new one later 🤦🏼‍♀️) and my student loans while buying a house in the past 5 years. We refinanced my husbands private loans to move them from a 15 year plan to a 5 year. Best decision we’ve ever made. In September of 2018, we were in the mid 60’s. Now we’re at 53k after this month! Our goal is to pay off the other car by the end of summer, which would allow me to work part time and only pay for part time day care (which is CRAZY expensive around here). We’re super frugal, we budget, we buy used when we can and are super appreciative of all the support we constantly receive! Our debt free date is March 2021 or sooner if we make some big changes. We’re the black sheep amongst our friends and family. But we don’t mind! We can see the end game and the life we want for our , and it’s so achievable with some hard work! Our ten year plan looks pretty darn good 😎 🏔 🏡 ✈️

Since I am closing down March payments in preparation for April 1st, I thought it would be a good time to share my 2019 student loan progress so far. • January= holiday fatigue, being lazy not reconciling in the EveryDollar app, too many “yes” to events and random engagements, lots of “I’ll wait till the new year to buy that” spending. • February=tightened the budget(slashed unnecessary spending), tax return, started side gig/own a business of courier services providing food, recommitted to my goal of paying of [student]debt by age 30! • JellyRant when I say SLASH - I mean I even gave back a cable box for a -$7.50 monthly savings and lowered Netflix package from $10.99 to $8.99=every little bit adds up • Can’t wait for March numbers!
