SAW VI (2009), directed by Kevin Greutert (cinematographer on SAW I-V) from a screenplay written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (SAW V, THE COLLECTOR). Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Mark Rolston, Athena Karkanis & Shawnee Smith reprise their roles from previous films while newcomers include Peter Outerbridge ("DESIGNATED SURVIVOR", "THE EXPANSE"), Samantha Lemole (INHERENT VICE), Tanedra Howard ("BLACK BOOTS"), Darius McCrary (TRANSFORMERS, "FAMILY MATTERS"), Devon Bostick ("THE 100", DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODRICK RULES), Shauna MacDonald ("11.22.63", "HEMLOCK GROVE") & George Newbern ("SCANDAL", "JUSTICE LEAGUE"). The plot follows an insurance executive (Outerbridge) with a tempestuous history with Jigsaw forced into a new game involving his employees and centered around his risk assesment formula that has cheated countless people out of health coverage. Meanwhile, Detective Lieutenant Mark Hoffman (Mandylor) finds himself drawn out into the open in order to keep his true identity as the secret apprentice of Jigsaw (Bell) from being exposed after successfully framing FBI Agent Peter Strahm for his crimes. Despite its somewhat on-the-nose aesop regarding the health care reform debate, this film is one of the more poignant and relevant entries in the entire franchise. A full decade after it's release, health care is still as pertinent an issue as ever, so this film is another example of one that we couldn't leave off this list DarkDaysMarathon SawVI KevinGreutert PatrickMelton  MarcusDunstan TobinBell CostasMandylor BetsyRussell MarkRolston PeterOuterbridge ShawneeSmith SamanthaLemole TanedraHoward DariusMcCrary DevonBostick ShaunaMacDonald GeorgeNewbern TorturePorn 4thOfJuly July4th IndependenceDay Happy4thOfJuly DarkDays MovieMarathon 4thOfJulyMovieMarathon TheGeekMansion

We watched this giant little gem last night, a tender coming-of-age film about a teenager dealing with the fallout of a drunken sexual encounter after a party. I can’t recommend it enough, the acting is uniformly great, the dialogue feels natural, and the cinematography is pretty (as is the cast). Most importantly, the screenplay avoids the typical tropes and easy answers, and it doesn’t assume the audience is stupid and needs to be told every single detail. I would call it my favorite film of the year so far. giantlittleones keithbehrman joshwiggins darrenmann taylorhickson mariabello kylemaclachlan haileykittle kiandramadeira niamhwilson carsonmaccormac oliviascriven evanmarsh peterouterbridge jeffclarke canadiancinema canadianfilm canadianmovie comingofage comingofagemovie

No AFG today, classes were cancelled for Canada Day, good thing too cause I went to the gym today and my knee is still very sore. AFG class early tomorrow as usual, I look forward to see what I can do and what we’re gonna learn. I still need donations guys I’m at $600 I still gotta make another $1400 before the end. It’s for an amazing cause guys all the programs this event supports are great for the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. As usual there is a link to my fundrazr account under my name in my Instagram profile and as always I’ve included a link at the bottom of this post for all you Facebook people, anything helps guys and thanks for your support😎👍. It’s Canada day so let’s look to our Canadian superheroes Alpha Flight, Captain Canuck and of course Wolverine showing and proving that as Canadians we are a force to be reckoned with when we have to be. Also watched my three favourite Canadian films “Men With Brooms”, “The Great Outdoors” and of course “Strange Brew”. Had a good dinner complete with a blue buck pale ale cause it’s Canada day so I had to have a beer. 🇨🇦HAPPY CANADA DAY EVERYBODY🇨🇦 apronsforgloves eastsideboxingclub imustnotfearfearisthemindkiller thesleeperhasawakened workouttillyoupassout canadaday alphaflight captaincanuck wolverine menwithbrooms thegreatoutdoors strangebrew rickmoranis davethomas maxvonsydow paulgross mollyparker leslienielsen peterouterbridge jedrees jamesallodi pollyshannon danaykroyd johncandy

My MCM aka Movie Crush Monday is the most underrated & unappreciated action-thriller film of my lifetime. The film LUCKY NUMBER SLEVIN has action, drama, big story twist and not to mention a great cast of amazing actors. A case of mistaken identity puts a man named Slevin (Josh Hartnett) in the middle of a war between two rival New York crime lords: The Rabbi (Ben Kingsley) and the Boss (Morgan Freeman). While under the watchful eyes of Detective Brikowski (Stanley Tucci) and well-known assassin Goodkat (Bruce Willis), Slevin must quickly devise a plan to save his skin before his luck runs out. Like Bruce Willis’s cranky hitman Goodkat assures us in the sleepy opening to Paul McGuigan’s Lucky Number Slevin, this is a story that pulls the rug out from under you big time, going left when you look right and anchoring the very glib, cavalier crime shenanigans in something solid and emotional in the eleventh hour. It’s a wild, wacky film that borrows from others and often gets sidetracked by itself, but it’s also one of the most stylish, ambitious and beautifully made crime dramas of the last few decades, and has become an all time favourite for me. Josh Hartnett plays the mysterious Slevin, a hapless dude who is constantly mistaken for an even more hapless dude named Nick Fisher. Fisher is in a lot of trouble, owing large gambling debts to feuding NYC mobsters The Boss (Morgan Freeman) and The Rabbi (Ben Kingsley), debts which now forfeit to Slevin simply because he’s consistently in the wrong place at the wrong time. Then there’s the overzealous, shady NYPD cop (Stanley Tucci in mean mode) shadowing him, plus the bubbly girl next door (Lucy Liu) who tags along in his adventures in mistaken identity. It’s all very overelaborate, convoluted and long winded, but it’s part of what makes the thing so magical. Characters often use ten words where two will do, employ quirky anecdotes, monologue and show their pithy eccentricities, it’s an oddball script by Jason Smilovic that makes for one labyrinthine ride through New York City’s peculiar underworld dating back to the 70’s. The actors are having an absolute blast here and we get further work from Mykelti Williamson, Cory Stoll, Danny Aiello, Peter Outerbridge and more. A standout is the great Robert Forster in a cameo as a cop who delivers more exposition in one single scene than I’ve seen in some entire films, he’s a great enough actor that he fills a seemingly inconsequential role with wit and personality. McGuigan is a stylist who throws colour and pattern into the mix even when the scene doesn’t call for it, to great effect. Why shoot in a drab warehouse or monochromatic apartment when you can douse your set in kaleidoscope design just for the sheer hell of it? It works, the offbeat production

"Hello, William. You've probably been wondering when we would see each other again. Today is that day. For years your probability formula has decided the fate of others. The healthy have benefited while the potentially sick have been unjustly rejected. However, this formula does not take into account the human will to live. When faced with death, who should live versus who will live are two entirely separate things. Today your policy will be put to the test. There are four straps around your limbs and you have four tests you must complete, for if you don't, the straps on your arms and legs will detonate. Look closely. You have sixty minutes to complete your tests and avoid this fate, starting now. You are not alone in this game. Just as you have taken loved ones away from their families, if you do not reach the end before the timer hits zero, you will never see your family again Here is your first test. Your health and hereditary background put you in the highest category of success, however the same cannot be said for your adversary. While only fifty-two years of age, this man has continued to smoke, even though he has a history of high blood pressure and heart disease. This demonstrates the very lack of appreciation for the blessings of his own life. Your game will focus on the simple element of air. Once this game begins, every time you take a breath, the clamps around your chest will close in and crush your body. The only escape is in the other's failure. So I ask you: When faced with death, who will survive? Live or die, William. Make your choice."

Enjoy! 🇬🇧The plot seemed interesting and there were all the right features to be able to produce a great film 😉, but unfortunately there are too many shortcomings at in the end this Level 16 earns only a rating of 6/10 👍😆. Once you see death up close, then you know what the value of life is.

. Probably one of my favourite movies from TIFF 2018, Giant Little Ones tells a story of teenage friendship and sexuality after complications that arise post teenage house party (those crazy !). The storyline, acting and flow of the movie is natural and evokes a relatability that is a rare find. Keith Behrman writes these characters with the perfect awkward teenage relatability, all while taking on the difficult theme of sexuality and the fluidity that comes with it. What I admired most about this movie is the coming of age story does not hit you with hard, concrete endings, but rather opens the discussion of what sexuality is Fun fact: Gotta love me some Canadian content! Giant Little Ones is filmed in Sault Ste. Marie, and although it does not explicitly mention things like city throughout the movie, I’d like to think this is a great representation of the average Canadian small town and the new generation of Canadian . 🇨🇦 giantlittleones joshwiggins darrenmann mariabello taylorhickson kylemaclachlan peterouterbridge niamhwilson keithbehrman drama comingofagemovie teendrama lovewithoutlabels livewithoutregrets moviereview hamont mongrelmedia filmedincanada lgbtmovie

Earlier, I was talking about how Joyce didn’t deserved to be in a trap. Today, it will be the opposite: William Easton and his employees, really deserved to be tested. Saw VI in my opinion gave us an important lesson. A business will always step on others people’s well being to succeed and make more money. Every single trap had a special meaning and it shows that live is your most valuable asset. I love this movie very much. 🤘🏻 saw jigsaw saw6 peterouterbridge

5/5 On this Valentine's Day, I thought it would be fitting to share my favorite cinematic love story. While some may be turned off by this movie and be immediately repulsed by its subject matter, for me Kissed is an incredibly romantic and touching love story that is handled with delicate sensitivity. To address the elephant in the room, yes the protagonist is a necrophiliac. This is a taboo subject that can make people uncomfortable and I can understand why someone would not like this movie. This is an unappetizing and disturbing subject. If approached poorly, this movie could have come off very tasteless, but for me it is far from it. Kissed is one of the most beautiful and touching love stories that I have ever seen. I think it is a beautiful piece of art that is both powerful and passionate. It deals with its subject matter with respect and grace. The performances are believable and in many ways very relatable. We have all felt the overwhelming power of love and infatuation and the frustration of not being loved the way we want to be. We all know the familiar feeling of wanting to do whatever we can to connect with another person, to go to whatever lengths are necessary to be together. It's a powerful and overwhelming feeling that Kissed captures impeccably. Both Molly Parker and Peter Outerbridge are to be commended for their work here. Their maturity and professionalism are strong and their tact is beyond compare. For me Molly Parker is one of the most striking women I have ever seen and she is the epitome of beauty here. I adore this movie, but wouldn't recommend it to everyone. But if you can look at something objectively beyond what your instincts tell you to abhor, than you might be able to appreciate Kissed for what it is at its core; an impassioned love story that pushes the boundaries and explores where we are taught to never go kissed mollyparker peterouterbridge lynnestopkewich jaybrazeau barbaragowdy loveknowsnobounds maturesubjectmatter truelove ultimatesacrifice necrophilia allconsuming canadianfilm canada movie moviereview cinephile
