For my father I got him a pocket watch of a train which he loved but I had to be a bit of a kid and make him a train keychain/ornement. Don't have the picture with the Danish oil I added which gave it a nice shine. Wood burned dad and outlined the corners than sealed. handmade woodworking scrollsaw scrollsawart train (ig) silverlan's_woodworking

A few more keyracks finished this week! My favorite is the poplar with black and purple streaks 😍😍 (fun fact: I just learned this is called mineral streaking). Happy Sunday and Father’s Day! It’s been a productive weekend-I’ve finished up two new signs for sale and am making headway on a custom order. This cherish sign will be listed in the etsyshop soon. I love the two different letter heights 😍 What do you think? willowlanecreations

June has been a little crazy! Driving into a dang swamp, my 35th birthday and the want/need to spend some time outside with my girl! On that note, I will not be taking any more orders for completion in June! I have taken on a couple of last minute pieces and want to get all caught on on the pieces who’s purchasers generously keep reinforcing me to take my time. I appreciate you, and your pieces are on the go I am absolutely taking orders for completion in July though, and will be happy to put together quotes and designs of your ideas! So keep the requests coming Happy Father’s Day to all the Daddio’s today! I hope you enjoyed your day! I’m spending the night gluing up a couple of pieces and planning some goals to hit this week! As if it’s Monday tomorrow, already

So with the school year over I set a goal for myself this summer to learn how to use my scrollsaw. I’ve done a couple pieces before but I wanted to try some much more challenging stuff. So in my spare time I’m going to practice making some different things. Not sure if this fits the challenging idea but I’ve got to start somewhere. This piece is about 80% cut outanyone know what it’s going to be? woodworking wood woodworker sawdustlimited maker makersgonnamake bestigwoodworking custom handmade scrollsaw woodworkingskills signs woodsigns handmadesigns spraypaint logo 3d

It’s officially been a year since we opened our Etsy shop and a little over a year since starting MD WOOD CO! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every single person and business that has shown us support! When we started making signs we had no intention of selling them all across the country and for so many people to love them as much as we do! It’s a lot of work to try and run a business, especially when moving across the country, trying our best to raise a little lady, starting off in the real estate world, and now renovating our first house. Our nights are spent working on signs, but it has given us so much to be thankful for! I can’t wait to see what the next year holds for MD WOOD CO! To reminisce a little, tell us your favorite sign we’ve made thus far!

This video brought to you by “touch of gray”(thought I stayed out of the shot). Knocked out some scrolling while I waited for glue to dry yesterday. There are quite a few fathers in my life that I have been blessed with. My own father lacked the paternal gene, but I was so blessed for the short time that I had my GRANDPA! He was my hero! And there have been others along the way that showed me that God was "a meanie". Thank you to all to take this job in life so seriously and have fun doing it!⠀ -⠀ -⠀ -⠀ -⠀ -⠀ afatherslove fathersday2019 dadsday patriarchy pyrography scrollsaw woodburningart scrollsaw scrollsawart punchneedle router handmadedecorations handmadebiz yarnlovers punchneedlelove punchneedlekit yarnaddiction yarnshop LeeandLindaWork LeeandLindaDIY LeeandLindaShowU

When I was 16 I got a call to come home from the movies early, something had happened at home. I got home to elders from the Kingdom Hall and my family in the driveway that told me to go inside, Dad had something to tell me. He was in my room crying and I sat on my bed with him to hear he hated his life and didn’t want to live it like this and was leaving. He was upset how much I looked like my mother and felt that was why he hadn’t been as present for me as my brothers. It was painful to see her in me. The rest was just a blur. This Dad of mine was also never involved and I only remember him active when I was a younger kid. Flash two years later with no contact, I decided I would invite him to my wedding. He showed up with his wife? Or girlfriend? I think they had been his secret life for awhile but I don’t really know. I only knew he had shown up when a random kid came up and said I can’t believe my big sister is getting married today and I was handed a target gift card. Flash to a year after that I get a text hey where are you living now? I replied and have been waiting for a text back ever since. Lots of people have , only the good ones become fathers. I’m very much at peace with Colt becoming a father to baby Timber. He’s got his man carrier ready and is currently obsessed with bicycle trailers so he can take it on all the rides. I also have friends who share their dads and an ability to take care of myself I wouldn’t have otherwise found. Happy Fathers Day to the ones that earned it, and i’m hoping Colt enjoys his last sane one! thehouseoftimber dogdadisgraduating fathersday woodworking scrollsaw create maker signmaker dogdad

This is going to be the largest wedding sign that I will be making. Lettering is all cut and ready for some paint. Notice the background of this picture is the garage floor. It’s WAY too big to fit on the table of my scroll saw! I also hope that you notice my footwearblue Crocs which are covered in a combination of stain, paint and saw dust. They may be ugly but boy, are they ever comfortable Facebook- House in the Woods scrollsaw houseinthewoods woodensign handmade woodsign wedding weddingsign scrollsawart scrollsawartist muskoka pickaseatnotaside pickaseatnotasidesign

This sign is lit literally, swipe to watch the video It's my first light up sign and it was a lot of thinking of how/where to place the led strip to make it functional and give it a clean look! It also was long overdue to make this for my friend Alain which he patiently waited for me to make it happen, it's much appreciated! When you have a jobby job and do this as a side hustle everything is a slow process but having patient clients makes it worthwhile woodworking custom handmade handcrafted woodsigns lightupsigns mnmade wallart mancave scrollsaw scrollart scrollsawartist woodworkingcommunity makers makersgonnamake mnmaker
