[There’s something so satisfying about slow motion] 😍
Over the last month or so Deana and I have really changed up our diet, switching to more plant-based recipes (with a little bit of meat here and there). 🍌🍎🍇🥑🥦🥥🍋
Things we’ve been exluding 🚫from our recipes/meals include:🛒.
- Wheat and gluten 🌾 .
- Corn (Sorry Nebraska/Iowa) 🌽 .
- Soy (again, sorry midwest 😐) .
- Eggs 🥚 .
- Canola Oil .
- Pork 🐖 .
- Farmed Fish 🐟 .
- Sugar (from a variety of sources)
- Processed beet sugar
- Artificial sugars 🤢 .
- Natural flavors.
- MSG 😓 .
- Food Dyes.
- Anything we can’t pronounce or know what they are 🤔
So what’s left, am I right? 🤷🏻♂️
Whole, natural, plant-based foods. And I can tell you that it is making a big difference in our lives already. 🌱
More to come on that later. 💯
As a part of this change we have been making a lot of smoothies, mostly in the morning but also at night. ✅
These are either fruit smoothies, greens, or a combo of each. 🍌 🥬 🥗
My go-to in the morning and even at night has been a banana/blueberry smoothie with coconut milk. It is delicious 😋
I decided to change it up tonight. Here is what is in this one: ❤️ .
- Banana (frozen)
- Blueberry (frozen)
- Coconut water (no added sugar)
- Coconut milk (canned, unsweetened)
- Goji berries
- Cacao nibs
- Chia seeds
- MCT oil
- Omega 3 - Aloe (fresh, cut in squares)
Delicious, healthy, and healing! 🤤
