125kg for 5reps top set today, followed by a couple of doubles at 120kg🏋🏻‍♀️ Had a crappie squat session the other weekend, 125kg felt soooo much heavier😩 but after some proper recovery it felt light on my back today😃 Although my eyeballs look like their going to pop out of my very red face say something different 😳😂 Lots of great accessory work followed up squats, including glute ham raises, love this exercise & it’s a staple on both squat & deadlift days💪🏼 Also a few shameless gym selfies😂😂 Awesome tee & lever belt by cerberus_strength 💪🏼 TJ10 for 10% off all their goodies😃 teamcerberus cerberusstrength powerlifting squat girlswhosquat shesquats inkedgirls strengthtraining likeaboss gymgirl gym bodybuilder bikinifitness gymshark sbdapparel adidas muscle strong strength legday instafit fitspo girlswholift

Your Strengths will be your Strengths your and Weaknesses can become Strengths if you work at them. A work out with high volume thrusters and chest to bar pull-ups is one where I really have to put my competitive nature/ego aside and focus on me. Thrusters are a huge strength for me, but while my chest to bar pull ups have come a long way, performing them under extreme fatigue is something I continue to work on. I have to manage my strength in a work out like this to give myself more time, BUT also not be too fatigued for the more challenging movement. I went into the CrossFit open 19.5 wod with a game plan, at first I stuck to it, that crumbled at some point mostly on the chest to bar pull ups, because I’m still learning to know myself, so once/if that happens it’s a matter of keeping your mind in that WOD until it’s over, and let me tell you THAT IS TOUGH and is also something I’m still working on. Despite the fact that my plan “crumbled”, I’m super proud of how I performed on this one, I have improved so much since last year and to me that’s all that matters. I stuck to my plan of doing each work out only once in this open. Did I come out of every work out feeling as if I did it flawlessly? Nope. Did I think I could do better if I did it again? Yep, every time. But, was that what I needed from the open this year? Nope. I came out of each work out and I always come out of every training work out considering what I did well, but also realizing and knowing exactly where I still need work. That is what the open is doing for me this year, it’s showing me how I’ve improved, but also showing where I have holes that I can work on moving forward, I don’t need to do the work outs multiple times to figure these two things out. In this open it’s been ME vs ME and I beat myself in every work out, and it only took one attempt 😏. Most of the time, the biggest challenges and hardships of our lives propel us in a direction that is more meaningful and aligned with our greater purpose. We may ask “why am I going through this!” But we are not meant to know the reason just yet. I believe there’s a reason for everything and it’s our life journey to connect all the pieces to find our true meaning and the answers to our questions. It’s about appreciating the journey even when it’s hard. Through the years, we build a story of courage, strength, and wisdom and one day we will be able to look back and see we were being led where we always needed to be. 🙏🏻 thoughtoftheday courage strength wisdom lifejourney purpose meaning love appreciation selflove understanding motivation faith satisfying

What does it mean to be a “mature” woman? It means to have compassion, to trust your inner knowing, to march to the beat of your own heart, to make up your own mind, to discern between what truly matters and what can be set aside or let go, to choose what’s healthy for you and brings you peace, to have the wisdom to know your worth within and not require validation from anyone but yourself. To always strive to be better than you were before and to enjoy and appreciate every gift life offers woman power innerknowing wisdom gratefulness compassion strength gentleness loving caring thoughtful timelesswoman empoweredwomen

Here’s another great woman to honor during National Women’s History Month: Bessie Coleman became the first American woman to earn an international pilot’s license in France due to racial discrimination preventing her entry to American flying schools. Because of racial and gender bias in the U.S. stunt flying was her only option, and she staged the first public flight by an African-American woman in the US, September 3, 1922. Coleman drew huge crowds to her shows, refused to perform before segregated audiences, and raised money to found a school to train black aviators. Bessie didn’t let obstacles get in her way of doing what she loved.  She utilized her skills to make a difference in the lives of those she touched.  My new book, Stiletto Standards, will provide you with the ways to help you make the difference you want to make in your life!  And when you use the link in my bio to order, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to Dress for Success, an organization empowering women to achieve economic independence nationalwomenshistorymonth womenshistorymonth womenempowerment women woman dressforsuccess dressforsuccesspittsburgh strength success grace stilettostandards suzannesstandards

Just when you thought this year’s CrossFit Open couldn’t get worse, here comes 19.5. Tomorrow I will be attempting 19.5 and all geared up for the same. Thrusters one of my favorite exercises clubbed with c2b. If you've done Fran, one of CrossFit's most legendary workouts, and a blend of thrusters and pull-ups. Still, 19.5 tests your mettle in new ways. 19.5 is a classic couplet. This workout may look brutal at first glance, but take a step back. 19.5 is more about strategy and pacing than it is about attacking. Let's see what's in store. Will keep you posted on the same. crossfitlifestyle crossfit crossfitopen crossfitters crossfitlife crossfitmen deadlifts fitmen fitnessmotivation fitness india strong strength fitlife fitlifestyle rowingmachine rowing rowingworkout crossfitrowing reebok nobullproject crossfitweightlifting squatclean heavyweight barbellworkout crossfitopens crossfitopen2019

✴CLIENT SPOTLIGHT✴ I've been working with Ralph for 2 months. He came to me looking to aquire his old physique from 2 years ago after he had gained a significant amount of body fat. He was also a smoker and made the decision to quit after our first session, still going strong 2 months into training. I train him at 5am during the week, so we both struggle to make it sometimes with me being in school fulltime and he is an accountant working hard through the tax season. 💢BIG TOE MOBILITY💢 Self Mobility Saturday goes over ways to get your big toe moving better! We put a combination of mobility work followed up by strengthening to help maintain that new range of motion! 🔹Self Big Toe Mobilization - moving the toe in all different directions is a great way to reduce perceived stiffness and tightness around the big toe. Attempt to do some basic self mobility movements before training 🔹Push-Up Rockbacks - This is a great way to engage the entire body but also good way to work both big toe and ankle mobility 🔹Single Leg Calf Raises - we love using the fasciitisfighter to put the big toe in a position of extension when performing the calf raise to improve loading tolerance to the foot but also work on maintaining end range of motion into the big toe! What do you like to use for getting the big toe moving? Tag a friend who could benefit from these or leave a comment on any variations you’ve tried!

Day 80: now this is a story, all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down Not long ago I would take the piss out of anyone who posted about going through a ‘journey’. I just found the whole instagram Journey thing to be hipster, patronising and annoying. In fact, I just couldn’t relate. Journeys & battles in life break us down and allow a restart. Ditching topical steroids and going through a brutal withdrawal (like so many of you) was like pressing my own restart button I’ve been through a couple of hardships in my life but nothing like this. I grew up in a very stable home and always felt loved by two unbelievable parents. My brother James and I moved around a lot as and this just made us stronger. However, I was often the ‘new girl’. This lead to some pretty severe social anxiety/depression in my twenties. To be fair, it was probably a combination of a chemical in-balance, unresolved childhood social awkwardness & too much partying (opps) Little did I know that the depression I had suffered at 21 would be holding me up during TSW. The strength I built during that time is now part of my make up. To come out the other side of depression to see in colour again just solidifies the fact that there will be a beautiful life after TSW. Life goes on, after all Life teaches you a million lessons, every single fucking day, you just don’t know when the test will be TSW, you reminded the chick who thought she was weak as fuck, that in fact she is a motherfucking warrior and always was. A 360 degree view is all she needed to see it. Fucking hipster! ;) . Now let me extend this to you, TSW sufferer what you are going through right now; the pain/the discomfort/the fear/the fact you have to live on - I promise this will stay with you forever, in a positive way. The strength you have found or created during this period will be the hand pulling you up through trials & tribulations in years to come.

artworktoday - "Mom & I": It has always been mum and me since I could remember, as we simply did everything together back then: go out, eat, having fun, and go back home; I still remember that time when my mum sneaked inside the classroom at my primary school just to give me a birthday card so I won't feel too lonely that day. Meanwhile, as a single mother living in a small city, she is often being judged by many, so I often feel like we are some kind of outsiders or aliens once in a while. As time passed by, slowly I get to used to the voices and comments of others, but at the same time, I also realized the power and strength my mother contained under her skin, just like the wine cups that hold all the unknown flavored wine under their alienated look, bitter or sweet asianfusiongallery. Mum & I: Size: larger winecup: About 20cm x 15cm, smaller winecup: About 18cm x 10cm; Material and techniques: folded copper, raised copper, chased surface, soldering.
