Truer words have never been spoken. Who else works out to eat more? I know I’m not the only one 😂 I FINALLY HIT 310! I have the question mark beside the final set because I wasn’t sure about my form. I feel like I hit depth (or at least close to) but I also wasn’t sure if I was leaning too far forward because I was feeling it in my low back/hips. But whatever, I was able to move 310! The rest of the workout was focused on working on weaker movements with the exception of seated cable rows. Holly has been an awesome client of mine for over a year and a half now and in that time she has made tremendous progress in her training Being that she has goals as both a physique athlete and a strength athlete, her training has been carefully tailored to bring up these areas simultaneously. Of course there are times we focus on one or the other more intensely in order to maximize her efforts. The top-knot and Baby are ready for dance class. Me on the other hand? Yikes. 😂 I feel huge todayand I know I have so far to go! 🤪 . Pregnant women always seem to be walking around with confidence and beauty - and man I had NO IDEA how much anxiety there would be growing a baby in your belly. 🤯 I’ve been a ball of stress with all sorts of thoughts running through my mind. The other night I even cried because I was sad that baby was all alone in there and I was worried she was lonely or scared. 😂 (hormones are definitely a thing) Some days it’s so hard to fight those anxious thoughts. But it is a battle and we’ve got to keep filtering the thoughts that pop through our heads and decide if we want them there or not - no matter if we’re growing a baby or we are faced with what seems like an enormous feat. 💪 As overwhelming as things can be, I (and you!) DO have the power to decide to think differently. •YOU ARE ENOUGH• : : For a long time I didn’t fully understand this statement. I mean, I know it. I kinda feel it. But there was a piece missing in my understanding. While reading through chapter 17 of The Baby Book by Bob Sears (so many good nuggets in here), I came accross a passage on the subject of returning to work postpartum that said this: “Don’t sell yourself short. Some women have such a poor self image or such poor mother daughter modeling from their own childhood that they cannot picture themselves as good for their babies. Your baby doesn’t not shop around; he doesn’t know any ‘better’. You are his only mother and you are good enough. You need your baby to open you up to learning how to be a mother.” This completely changed my perspective on this idea of being enough. It’s great to have goals, and it’s great to pursue healing. But just know, that right now, the way you are is enough. There’s no one better at being you than you! Your baby, he’s hand picked just for you. Let go of all of the “should do’s” and “should be’s”, that way you can fully express YOURself. It’s freeing.
